In this position…

Ford is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Senior Specialist, Learning and Development, working in a primarily self-directed capacity.  This individual will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and primarily the delivering of training and development activities to include weekly New Employee Orientation sessions, both in-person and remotely.  This role will also contribute to the design of engaging training materials which use multiple modalities and own the delivery of Learning and Development special projects. Additionally, the role will be a subject matter expert on matters pertaining to Learning and Development facilitation.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do…

  • Facilitates learning and leadership development programs, courses, workshops – both in-person and virtually – on a multitude of subjects. 
  • Supports the design and development of global training programs and online learning pathways for employees on leadership, general skills and competencies, workplace conduct, etc. to achieve increased team and employee performance while improving the overall employee experience.
  • Implements testing of new training programs and provides valuable feedback to continuously improve current and future trainings.
  • Demonstrates expertise in Learning and Development subjects such as need gap assessment, curriculum development, selecting delivery mechanisms, and training delivery.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate and confidential records and data related to Learning and Development matters and helps to identify areas for improvement or intervention.
  • Participates in the design and development of global training programs for multiple cohorts (e.g., new hire orientation program) leveraging multiple engaging training materials in various formats such as e-modules, instructor-led, webinars, and blended learning to meet global needs.
  • Works closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gain an in-depth understanding of the content and knowledge to be transferred to the targeted audience. Supports in the maintenance and updates to onboarding, off-boarding, learning content, courseware, related performance tools and instructional manuals. Schedules periodic course reviews and any updates needed; schedules the expiration of training courses, if appropriate.

Qualifications

You’ll have…

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8 years of work experience with an Associate’s degree, preferably in Learning and Development or a related field.

  • Exceptional facilitation and communication skills  
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) (Preferred)
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR) (Preferred)
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (Preferred)
  • Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated or standing position and entails no significant stooping, climbing, etc. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.
