Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for strategy, continuous improvement, scaling & activation of our core Manager Development Offerings for eBay globally. In particular, ensuring ‘Leading at eBay’ programs and other offerings continue to meet the needs of all our people mgrs.
  • Design, deliver and oversee diverse learning programs and experiences, focusing on the development of our global people leaders at each stage of their leader journey.
  • Develop leaders’ skillsets and mindsets in line with our leadership expectations, ensuring experiences are relevant, easy to engage with and impactful.
  • Collaborate with senior partners: Partner closely with senior leaders and HR business partners to understand the organization’s strategic objectives and learning needs. Translate these insights into learning initiatives that drive employee performance, engagement, and career progression, with a particular focus on leadership capabilities.
  • Evaluate and measure program effectiveness: Develop and implement robust evaluation strategies to measure the impact and success of learning initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program documentation, including participant records, evaluations, and program metrics.
  • Analyze data and feedback to make informed decisions about program enhancements and improvements.
  • Responsibility for budget management: overseeing/managing cost tracking for learning initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Champion a culture of learning: Develop communication and engagement strategies to promote leadership learning opportunities, increase participation, and highlight the value of continuous leadership growth.
  • Build partnerships with external vendors to enhance the quality and breadth of leadership development offerings. Negotiate contracts and lead vendor relationships to ensure seamless delivery of external leadership development resources.
  • Drive innovation and thought leadership: Stay informed about industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in learning and leadership development. Share insights and recommendations with leadership to maintain a forward-thinking and competitive learning function.

Preferred Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in instructional design, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Learning & Development Manager or in a similar leadership role in the tech industry.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing value adding and sustainable leadership development experiences
  • Strong understanding of learning theories, instructional design principles, and adult learning methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing comprehensive learning and leadership development strategies.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead budgets, resources, and timelines.
  • Exceptional communication and partner management skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with learning technologies and platforms, and a passion for staying updated on industry trends.
  • Data-driven mentality, with the ability to analyze metrics and use insights to drive continuous improvement.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$144,000 – $216,150

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
