The learning specialist is responsible for coordinating the learning and development processes. This specialist functions as the learning management system administrator, managing the set-up and coordination of learning events, the learning catalog, reporting and gathering learning metrics and sharing findings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This L&D Specialist will also be expected to engage in and support the design, development, and delivery of learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure learning management system (LMS) classes, programs, reports, scorecards, and planned learning outcomes are compiled and in alignment with the learning vision and strategic priorities.
  • Consistently meet deadlines and maintain operational day-to-day coordination while managing small to medium sized learning opportunities (i.e. design and deliver team building sessions, facilitate meetings/discussion, study learning trends to influence future work).
  • Gather all details and support preparation for learners and facilitators to support learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Team, HR, and business partners to gather and understand learning and/or learning system needs and align with internal team to ensure effective execution of the learning plan and processes.
  • Keep up with currents trends in the areas of LMS administration and basic adult learning theory.
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and maintain high level of work while managing multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft platforms, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint, knowledge of learning software such as Cornerstone, Articulate 360 or others is preferred.
  • Strong interest and curiosity in learning and engagement specifically related to personal and professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, passion for collaboration and high accountability with the ability to collaborate in a team as well as work individually.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities based on business and associate needs.
  • Demonstrates a desire to learn and apply quickly by seeking feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to adapt to a hybrid work environment, communicate effectively, consider the learner and learning experience in all responsibilities and communications.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Training & Development or equivalent preferred.
