About Us

At Udemy, we’re on a mission to improve lives through the power of learning. We’re a leading global learning company and one of the world’s largest education platforms, with more than 67 million learners. Our goal is to provide flexible, effective skill development to empower organizations and individuals.

Talented people are everywhere, and the right opportunity can be hard to come by. That’s why we’re focused on revolutionizing learning, using our skills and expertise to help others develop theirs and reach their full potential. Individually, we bring our unique perspective to reimagine the way we share knowledge. Together, we can improve lives by making learning more accessible for our learners, our instructors, and businesses around the world.

This hybrid position requires two days per week in our San Francisco office.

About you

You are an innovative and creative designer who can take a blank sheet of paper and create something to target business and market needs. You prototype solutions in a collaborative manner, bringing in many different perspectives and getting feedback along the way. You love tackling ambiguous problems and creating solutions where there may not be past precedent. You are known for your knowledge of leadership and management development and bring perspective on the skill needs of leaders today and in the future.

About this role

  • You will operate as an individual contributor drawing on skills from across the learning team on an as-needed basis (project-specific teaming)
  • You will be working with learning partners, people partners and leaders to understand development needs to inform solution design
  • You will design leadership products and services for all levels of leaders and deliver them though a team of senior learning and people partners
  • Reporting to the Director of Leadership Development, you will work together to design the strategy, roadmap and overall portfolio of products and solutions.

What you’ll be doing

Creating, developing and advancing current and new leadership development initiatives with a focus on impact and outcomes.

  • Skills-Based Leadership development design: You will be working on crafting experiences that develop priority skills that align with business goals; and ensuring experiences lead to desired outcomes.
  • Analytical and critical thinking: Design measurement approaches that analyze the outcomes and effectiveness of interventions, tracking progress over time.
  • Collaboration and Influence: To make something truly innovative and well built, you will be collaborating with a wide-variety of stakeholders inside and outside of the organization to gather ideas and feedback on designs/prototypes. Once your designs are built, you will be helping to gain buy-in and participation in experiences to yield expected and desired results.

What you’ll have

  • 7+ years experience working within a high-growth, fast-paced organization delivering leadership products and solutions
  • Demonstrated experience or skill proficiency at designing learning products, experiences and solutions for leaders
  • A thorough understanding of the principles, theory, and practice of leadership development and learning science.
  • Experience taking products from concept to solution; taking products to an external market is a plus

About your Skills:

  • Product/Solution design: You have strong product design skills and can move from concept to prototype easily. You are excellent at coming up with new ideas and sharing them with your team in a sketched out or ‘initial draft’ form – you aren’t afraid of taking early risks with a ‘back of a napkin’ design.
  • Strategy to Project Management: While you don’t manage the entire portfolio of leadership development approaches, you are able take your products and connect them seamlessly to others, to the core business strategy and ensure timelines don’t conflict.
  • Consulting: You have strong consulting and systems thinking skills. You can see beyond the presenting problem, get underneath it, and draft up potential solutions.
  • Influencing: You can influence and develop relationships effectively, up, down, and across the organization. You are capable of scoping a solution and ensuring that people feel heard when providing input and can see themselves and their ideas making an impact.
  • Communication: You have strong presentation and facilitation skills, able to powerfully communicate and interact with senior leaders in front of a room, virtually, in-person and through other vehicles. You are able to draw insights from data to tell a story.
  • Learning Design & Technology: You have proficiency with GenAI tools, multi-modal learning tools and preferably our platform as a whole (Udemy Business & Udemy Business Leadership Academy), willing to experiment with them as part of solution design. You craft your products and solutions steeped in learning science and learning design best practices.
  • Critical thinking: skills that allow you to constructively debate with your colleagues to ensure we are always learning and getting to the best solution vs. the most convenient one.

We understand that not everyone will match each of the above qualifications. However, we also realize that everyone has unique experiences that can add value to our company. Even if you think your background might not perfectly align, we’d love to hear from you!
