Job Description Summary

The Regional Learning & Development Leader – Americas, is part of GE Aerospace’s HQ Learning & Development (L&D) Team, reporting directly to the Chief Learning Officer for GE Aerospace. As part of this global team, this position will develop and implement an integrated L&D strategy, be a catalyst to drive business performance and employee engagement by radically examining, re-setting and re-establishing world class organizational capability for GE Aerospace employees in the Americas region.

The ideal candidate has strengths in multiple facets of L&D, with a focus on learning business partnership, learning delivery / implementation, learning design / development and learning program / course management. As the primary point of contact for GE Aerospace L&D in the region, this is a “hands on” individual contributor role, responsible for supporting and accelerating the development of talent within the region, as well as leading and supporting strategic business initiatives via dynamic and innovative learning solutions, inclusive of professional and leadership development, custom requests, team development, and GE Aerospace specific programs / offerings.

Developing strong networks across GE Aerospace and the region will be key to broadening reach. Some of those teams include HR Site Leaders, Business / Site Operating Leaders, Business / Site L&D Teams, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and the Global Talent Organization / Integrated Talent Leaders.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Program manage a portfolio of learning offerings and resources, including planning, curation of vendors/solutions, learning design, learning delivery, learning evaluation etc. while identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities.
  • Learning business partnership with key stakeholders / customers to understand learning needs and align on the best way to launch and execute learning opportunities. 
  • Tailor programs or content to ensure that they meet regional requirements and are fit for purpose.
  • Facilitate a variety of sessions for the region to varying audiences – both virtual and in-person – from manufacturing floor to senior level employees
  • Consistently reviewing the data across all programs to ensure that they are meeting customer expectations and growing the capability of our people. 
  • Raise the profile for learning at GE Aerospace and encourage a culture of learning to engage employees throughout the organization.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area (or a high school graduate/GED or equivalent with at least 9 years of relevant work experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years prior professional work experience with demonstrated achievement in corporate learning / talent development or related (with minimum 3 years of facilitation or teaching experience [in person / virtual] to large group audiences of varying levels)
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication (oral and written) skills in English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Able to travel 25% +/- as required.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience working in a COE, matrixed organization, managing key stakeholders and leading a significant component of the learning agenda; ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity and lead in a matrix goal driven organization.
  • Experience in manufacturing/lean manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts, instructional design theory, measurement and evaluation methods, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects.
  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience.
  • Player-coach approach with ability to be both strategic and execution oriented.
  • Servant leader approach with ability to pivot when needed to meet employees where they are; approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels with a genuine desire to assist others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and team- oriented culture.
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills.
  • Passion for innovative learning solutions and process improvement; Lean champion and learner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make judgments based on practice or previous experience.
  • Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting an inclusive and diverse workforce.
  • Masters in L&D, OD, HR, Leadership, DEI, Education or related.
  • Fluency in Spanish / Portuguese (oral and written)

Pay and Benefits:

The pay for this position is $128,900 – 214,800. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on March 1, 2024.
