Job Summary:

The Talent Development function is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Instructional Design to join the Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD) team. As a community of expertise, the L&OD team harnesses innovation and best practice standards to design learning and organizational development strategies that create a competitive differentiator to attract, retain, develop & grow key talent as well as close critical workforce skills gaps through hands-on, social, and formal experiences and learning enablement. The Senior Instructional Designer will deliver scalable learning programs and curricula to multiple stakeholder groups. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the design, development and continued maintenance of an enterprise-wide curriculum. Successful candidates will establish themselves as a trusted partner, understanding business needs and desired outcomes to inform design. In this capacity they will offer end-to-end solutions and experiences in alignment with our overall talent strategy, and partner across TD with functions such as Talent Management and Culture & Engagement, as well as across HR. Through this work, this role will apply critical thinking in service of delivering desired business outcomes. Success in this role will be measured by business outcomes and the impact the programs and other designed solutions have on our overall talent.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end training solutions and experiences in alignment with our overall talent strategy, and partner across TD with other teams through a community of practice to deliver on projects impacting HR and/or the enterprise
  • Lead large-scale learning & development projects for the organization
  • Consult with stakeholders in context of project work to identify gaps, assess learning and training needs, and determine appropriate learning strategy 
  • Design and develop training in all modalities including online training, virtual training, instructor-led, job aides, videos, etc.
  • Maintain standards for content design, development, and delivery. This includes multi-modal learning strategies
  • Project manage the development and implementation of Vail Resorts learning experiences (digital learning, instructor led training, informal, etc.). This includes preparing and delivering project documentation, status reports, and communications with stakeholders
  • Implement evaluation strategy to demonstrate effectiveness and return on investment of all training 
  • Manages multiple projects and processes on time and on budget
  • Responsible for the continued maintenance and development of enterprise training curriculum to consistently improve and evolve our programs as we grow and scale the business
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of instructional design and development experience
  • A strong portfolio of eLearning, virtual, and instructor-led training work that demonstrates mastery as an instructional designer
  • Strong content writing ability, creativity, attention to detail and excellent proofing and editing skills
  • Critical thinking skills and analytical approach to problem-solving while driving toward solutions
  • Demonstrated expertise with Articulate Storyline
  • Strong graphic design capabilities preferred

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $82,800.00 – $106,000.00 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors
