Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Instructional Designer, you are responsible for the successful design and creation of learning and development experiences that drive organizational performance across all Arc’teryx Retail teams. Specifically, you will focus on the build out and continual improvement of our Retail Training Programs for all retail roles. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to create engaging and best-in-class learning experiences that expedite time to readiness, unleash performance, and can be scaled across the globe. You will use your innovative mindset to assess ways to make our training programs uniquely Arc’teryx.

This role can be hired remote. Business operations occur on PST timezone

Meet Your Future Team:

Your role on the Retail Training team is key to our organization’s growth and business goals. The Retail Training team, a part of our Business Excellence team, is in service of the business supporting our scalable store growth and achievement of our goals. Retail Training creates best-in-class learning programs, supports implementation training, and delivers training that enables our business to operate effectively and scale for the future. You will be supporting with creating training to unleash our retail teams’ potential and build a high-performance culture.

If you were the Instructional Designer now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Leading the design, development, and implementation of engaging curriculum that adheres to instructional design models and adult learning principles and meets business needs
  • Developing multi-medium learning offerings to best suit the needs of our retail audiences and enable scalability (E-learning, instructor-led learning, etc.)
  • Leveraging knowledge of learning intake to consult and advise on learning solutions within the organization that are the outside of immediate scope of Retail Training
  • Developing and implementing evaluation criteria that measures learning/performance effectiveness following the delivery of training
  • Continuously improving learning programs based on evaluation feedback
  • Remaining current on learning and development trends and provide recommendations for ongoing improvements and champion innovation

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Collaborating with members of the retail training team and cross-functional partners to identify training needs and proposing, developing, and implementing innovative learning solutions
  • Utilizing instructional design methodology and adult learning principles (in conjunction with our retail teams’ needs) to build training that supports high performance and business growth
  • Building interactive and engaging blended learning courses for our Retail Training Programs
  • Building and executing an evaluation strategy for our Retail Training Programs

Are you our next Instructional Designer?

  • You have a degree or post-secondary education in education, organizational behaviour, human resources or a related field
  • You have 3+ years’ experience in corporate training and training design in the retail industry
  • You have 2+ years of demonstrated proficiency in working with online course authoring tools
  • You have extensive hands-on instructional design methodology experience
  • You have experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • You have end-to-end course development experience
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You are able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage priorities working in a fast-paced environment
  • You have excellent project management skills
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it

$80,000 – $100,000 a year

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD $80,000 – CAD $100,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.

Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
