In this role, you will:
- Scope standards and topics across grade levels, units, and modules to ensure alignment with K-5 social studies and English language arts standards and promote progressive skill and knowledge development.
- Design and develop inquiry-based curriculum materials that integrate social studies and English language arts standards, fostering knowledge acquisition, critical thinking, and inquiry skills.
- Curate and integrate diverse and culturally relevant resources, texts, and media to support inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Collaborate with content experts and other curriculum designers to design cohesive units and modules that build upon prior knowledge, scaffold learning, and promote deep understanding of social studies and English language arts content.
- Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of curriculum materials to measure effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with instructional goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience as an instructional designer outside of the school setting, ideally at a K-5 ELA/SS core curriculum or Edtech company.
- Expertise in K-5 social studies and English language arts educational standards and pedagogical best practices.
- Understanding of inquiry-based curriculum design.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Experience with digital learning platforms and technology-enhanced curriculum development is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, feedback-driven environment in circumstances involving ambiguity and nuance.

The base compensation range for this role is $85,000-$95,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a full benefits package. This compensation range and title may be adjusted based on actual experience.

85,000 – 95,000 USD per year (Remote – United States)
