Title : Coordinator- Program Development (First Aid)

Employee Working Location :  Remote (Canada) 

Employment Status :  Temporary Full-Time (6 months)

Salary Band : $ 56,416- $ 70,520 / year

In this role, you will : 

  • Provide technical guidance (clinical and education) to the first aid program when developing learning interventions.
  • Provide effective coordination, leadership, and expertise to revise the First Aid Program, aligned with our educational philosophy.
  • Support and uphold instructional design plan for the first aid revision project.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the development of first aid learning products.
  • Ensure that first aid education learning interventions are effective, current, accessible, inclusive, and compliant with federal/provincial regulations/legislation.
  • Ensure that first aid education learning interventions comply with program standards (includes initial development and maintenance of existing interventions) and the project’s outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Program Development team and the Canadian Council for First Aid Education to ensure that learning interventions meet identified learner audiences and markets’ needs and fill programming gaps identified during the project.
  • Assist in the evolution of Program Standards, delivery resources, and customer service tools to promote improved market saturation.
  • Coordinate piloting, primary/secondary research, and program evaluation efforts.
  • Contribute to discussions on the strategic and long-term direction of First Aid Education.  
  • Collaborate with the Prevention and Safety teams to develop and launch a revised first aid program with corresponding products, working closely with the Project Lead and Project Manager.
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe workplace and engage in other duties as required.

What we are looking for :

  • Certification as a Canadian Red Cross Instructor or Instructor Trainer (First Aid).
  • A university degree/diploma in Education, Prehospital Care, Emergency Response, Public Health, or related field.
  • 3-6 years of related experience, and or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An instructional design certificate, digital or online learning expertise, or adult education experience is an considered an asset.
  • Experience in managing volunteer resources.
  • Knowledge of Prevention & Safety programs and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English are essential (oral and written communication skills).
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative, team-based environments.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency using Office365, experience with online learning course authoring tools is an asset.
  • A self-starter and independent – you can work with minimal guidance within assigned responsibilities in sometimes stressful situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to interact effectively and build on-going relationships with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders.

Working conditions :

  • This position will work primarily in a remote capacity. The majority of team-based collaboration takes place in a virtual format.
  • Ability to travel is required
