Position Summary:

The Learning Consultant curates learning programs, develops virtual learning materials and classes, develops presentations and documents, eLearning, and participates in projects that support the overall learning strategy. The learning consultant facilitates and produces online (Zoom & Teams) courses for team members and leaders across the enterprise. The Learning Consultant performs basic administrative functions in the LMS, such as adding classes and eLearning courses, enrolling participants and providing course credits. The Learning Consultant’s main responsibilities will cover (1) learning and curriculum design; (2) program and content facilitation; (3) client consulting.

Essential Job Functions:

Learning and Curriculum Design

  • Design and develop learning courses according to instructional design standards and Adult Learning Theory.
  • Participate in learning projects (organizing information, communications, etc.).
  • Create course outlines, course descriptions, adapting course descriptions for integration into the LMS.
  • Act as product manager for courses developed, including identifying updates needed and maintaining schedule and enrollment in the LMS.

Analytics, Research, & Special Projects 

  • Analyze, synthesize and format other quantitative and qualitative data as needed. 
  • Develop and maintain project communications including status reporting, meeting facilitation and report-outs, stakeholder management.
  • Participate in projects led by the L&D Senior Learning Consultants in support of project objectives.

Program Facilitation & Production

  • Facilitate and produce learning courses via Zoom for participants across the enterprise including (but not limited to) New Team Member Orientation, Situational Leadership II, Continuous Feedback and Leading With Inclusion (DEI).
  • Provide Zoom production support to C-level executives.

Client Consulting 

  • Consult with stakeholders and internal clients to determine needs, gather data, analyze audiences, create learning experiences and select delivery methods that meet the determined objectives and goals.
  • Recommend the appropriate learning or performance solution, including making recommendations for communication or coaching in lieu of training, when appropriate.

Regular remote attendance on a full-time schedule Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm PST of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week, Pacific Time hours. Company-sponsored travel to Southern California up to four times per year.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Human Resources or Learning and Development; or equivalent Human Resources or Learning and Development education
  • Presentation experience desired
  • Leadership experience desired
  • Insurance industry experience desired
  • Project Management experience desired

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with conducting online presentations
  • Experience in creating learning materials in course development and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging Zoom learning sessions
  • Able to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization
  • Problem solving and decision making ability
  • General use of Microsoft 365 products, LMS, Articulate 360 and HRIS.
