Prevost, a member of the Volvo Group, is currently looking for effective and independent Training (& Development) Manager to fill a vacant position within his current team.  The location of the position is flexible in Canada or USA.

 What Is Expected: 

 As our Training Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and assessing training needs based on skills gap analysis, creating tailored training plans and develop methods and tools to enhance the skills and performance for customers and employees within the region (USA and Canada).

You will collaborate in a cross-functional environment with Service Centers, Customer Support team, and the Sales team across North America. You will be responsible for training in both diesel and alternative drive train technologies and will lead dual-branded spec training projects on new product introductions.

Plan training programs based on business goals aligned with the objectives and strategy of the company, oversee learning activities, curriculum, and resources.

To be successful in this role, you should have solid experience organizing training, designing the educational curriculum, and leading a training team.

Core Responsabilities: 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team and organization.
  • Support vision, leadership, process management and guidance for the overall learning and development programs within Prevost.
  • Facilitate training of internal and external professionals on major components and systems of Prevost & Volvo coaches
  • Work with Human Resources and product areas to develop and rollout required training to the business for both internal and external customers.
  • Your training expertise will be used in sales development paths, live events, regional trainings, virtual learning and online learning.
  • Embed in the business to remain current on new technologies, new products, specification updates, strategic directions, and changes in laws and regulations that impact the design and configuration of our coaches.
  • To manage the Training resources (human, material, intellectual, and financial) in order to deliver according to targets.
  • Interact with product managers to gather detailed product information for use in motorcoach training.
  • Act as a liaison between the department and business to gain certification on technical specifications for all products and componentry.
  • Manage documentation of all training and test records for all employees.
  • Participate in the evaluation and introduction of new training methods and technologies.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

What You Need?

Critical Competencies

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or minimum 5 years of proven experience managing a Training Function in Bus, Heavy Duty, Truck or Automotive environment.
  • At least 2 years of direct or indirect managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge and understanding of learning and development with extensive experience in development and delivery of learning strategies.
  • Must have MS Office proficiency.
  • Must have considerable analytic skills and be detail oriented in order to compile, analyze, and report upon training objectives and results.
  • Must have excellent customer service focus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to support creating training content, conducting training sessions, and communication training goals, structure, and outcomes.
  • Fluent in English.
