Position Summary: 

The Project Manager for the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education at Morehouse School of Medicine is responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, execution, and reporting of various initiatives within the curriculum redesign project. This role involves coordinating the activities of the steering committee and subcommittees, collecting and presenting data on student performance, researching metrics related to curriculum redesign, and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Information:

  • This position is Full-time. Work hours may be extended, or non-standard hours based on project or business needs.
  • Project is expected to last 2 years or more.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and present data effectively.
  • Familiarity with medical education and curriculum development.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Steering Committee Coordination:

  • Schedule and plan agendas for steering committee meetings.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among steering committee members.
  • Ensure the implementation of decisions made by the steering committee.

Curriculum Redesign Subcommittee Organization:

  • Organize and coordinate subcommittees under the curriculum redesign committee.
  • Work closely with subcommittee chairs to establish goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress and provide support as needed.

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Gather relevant data on student performance to inform the work of subcommittees and steering committees.
  • Present data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for innovation.

Research on Curriculum Redesign Metrics:

  • Conduct research on key performance indicators related to curriculum redesign.
  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in medical education.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Deliverables:

  • Develop, implement, and track KPIs and deliverables for the curriculum redesign project.
  • Regularly report on progress to the steering committee.

Reporting:

  • Create reports summarizing the activities and recommendations of subcommittees for the steering committee.
  • Prepare reports for the Board of Trustees on the status and impact of the curriculum redesign project.

Project Timeline Management:

  • Track progress on the project timeline and ensure that milestones are met.
  • Communicate any deviations from the timeline and propose corrective actions.

Budget Preparation and Management

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare budgets supporting curriculum redesign initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage expenditures within budgetary constraints.
