This position will manage a team of content development professionals in the design, creation, and continuous improvement of Disney Institute content for a specific product line (including Professional Development Courses – PDCs, Private Learning Events – PLEs, or Advisory Services).  The individual will provide leadership, project management, technical skills, and expertise in identifying new content as well as existing improvement opportunities, aligning with instructional objectives, designing, and developing both in-person and virtual-based instruction, creating technology-enhanced and audience-appropriate assets, and assessing learning outcomes.  Responsible for all project management and content development related activities being completed on time, within budget, and at a high level of quality.

The Content Manager will report to the Content Director and sits in Celebration, FL.

Responsibilities/What You Will Do:

  • This position will be responsible for creating and continuously reviewing in-person and virtual-based content assets for accuracy and quality while ensuring content reflects participant/client needs, current technology-enhanced delivery methods, contemporary business theory and practice, and relevant Disney Approach examples placed in the proper time context.
  • look for ways to create blended learning journeys through virtual, in-person, and immersive in-park experiences (based on the product line they lead).
  • review metrics to identify, evaluate, and incorporate trends and consumer insights on the usefulness and relevancy of the assets and content within the assets.
  • engage key internal stakeholders, industry and academic leaders, as well as subject matter experts, to develop relevant content. In addition, to internal stakeholders this position will interact with clients and participants, often in senior executive roles, to assess needs and gather feedback in the piloting and testing of content.
  • partner with various members of the Disney Institute Leadership team and will be expected to contribute to all of the organization’s business objectives. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years people management/leadership experience, or equivalent
  • 5+ years creating digital and innovative learning solutions and/or in-person content in a Fortune 500 environment.
  • Experience developing both in-person and virtual-based instruction.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement skills.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and hands on experiential learning activities. 
  • Experience writing in a professional setting – examples include client stories, marketing plans, proposals, designs, and/or content for learning experiences.
  • Experience presenting or engaging with all levels of an organization including up to senior executives up to CEO.
  • Presentation skills including building decks in Keynote and PowerPoint
  • Deep understanding of video and digital content production
  • Ability to understand business strategy and translate it into learning solutions.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and fast-paced change driven by growth and client expectations.
  • High level of organization and ability to handle multiple projects at once with little direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in Project Management
  • 5+ years experience as an Instructional Systems Designer or Video Production
  • Disney leadership experience including managing salaried employees.
  • Prior experience in designing programs for various subject matters and audience.
  • Proven experience with facilitating meetings to achieve objectives, such as content or information gathering meetings.
  • Experience running design sessions with VP level, HR members or training staff.
  • Experience using InDesign, Workfront, and Apple products.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Content/Instructional Design, Organizational Design, Business, Video Production) or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in Digital/Video Content Production, Instructional Systems Design, or equivalent experience.
