About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Global L&D will oversee and manage global Learning and Development programs and systems by: leading the L&D global strategy in partnership with regional L&D teams; overseeing development and maintenance of global training programs and systems (e.g., LMS); lead a team of facilitators, instructional designers, and developers; manage L&D vendor relationships. The Senior Manager of Learning and Development oversees the global Learning Management System, training program development, facilitation, and maintenance, and training engagement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • North America: Lead the North America learning and development function to:
    • Consult with operations leaders and other business functions to assess business needs, provide advisement from an L&D lens, and identify effective training strategies and solutions.
    • Partner with operations leaders and business functions to support initiatives through development, execution, maintenance, and tracking of effective learning solutions, to meet the strategic goals of the business (for example: develop train-the-trainer materials and training execution rollouts; lead national training rollout strategy).Redefine internal processes for national activation development and implementation from briefings & tech development through launch protocols, promoting strong cross functional collaboration.
  • North America: Lead the North America learning and development function to:
    • Lead a team of facilitators, designers, developers, and LMS administrators in development, management, tracking, and governance of effective learning solutions.
    • Ensure the team collaborates with all subject matter experts to design and develop content using a variety of learning approaches such as online, blended, virtual and traditional classroom.
    • Oversee maintenance and execution core training programs, such as North America Franchisee Training. Support national activation execution with a focus on step change improvements program to program (window to window) using key business KPI’s, guest insights, & performance data to improve adoption and restaurant execution.
  • Global: Partner with global learning & development teams to:
    • Lead global learning and development strategy and governance.
    • Develop and maintain core global training systems and programs (e.g., franchisee training).
    • Oversee usage and maintenance of the global LMS (learning management system).
    • Maintain global L&D vendor relationships (e.g., LMS provider)
  • Oversee global training data:
    • Manage training data reporting systems to ensure accuracy, functionality, practicality, and timeliness of updates, within LMS and other integrated systems.
    • Track and analyze training data to understand patterns and trends, to uncover insights and: provide insights to leadership and field regarding progress, opportunities, and training effectiveness; utilize insights to improve L&D strategy and programs; promote internal and field accountability toward business initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in learning & development or business management related field required.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System and functionality, blended learning techniques, required.
  • Minimum 2 years in learning leadership and managing staff, 5 years in learning & development, 3 years in food service or hospitality.
  • Highly adaptable to differing situations and personalities. Must be able to work independently, and have excellent communication, influencing, networking, team management, and collaborative skills. 
  • Strong Project Management, Organization, and Strategic Planning skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and professionalism.
  • Strong analysis skills to assess effectiveness and impact of training material on the business using data and insights. Has strong commercial awareness & understands how to positively impact restaurant economics with the output of the Ops Strategy function & L&D.
  • Working knowledge of eLearning authoring tools, Learning Management Systems and functionality, instructional design, various and blended learning techniques, training facilitation.
  • Willingness to contribute to projects in a hands-on fashion and lead by example. For example: initiatives may require this role to contribute to projects by participating in (not just leading) development of training materials, facilitation of sessions, etc.

Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, qualifications, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
