Job Summary

This position primarily oversees instructional design and curriculum reviews for interprofessional continuing education. The role will review all continuing education applications and support providers with implementing educational best practices, including active learning strategies and instructional practices that support adult learning principles. In addition, this position will be responsible for assessing all learning objectives provided in continuing education applications to determine if the program is able to achieve stated objectives. This position will support providers by helping them implement instructional strategies and educational best practices to make the continuing education provided an outstanding, high-quality learning experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review all Continuing Education (CME/IPCE) applications for program content and applicable learning objectives (LOs) to determine if LOs are feasible within the proposed course design.
  • Review stated active learning techniques to determine feasibility of activities.
  • Partner with provider to update programs, LOs, or active learning strategies based on educational best practices.
  • Develop programming (face-to-face, online, asynchronous) to teach providers research-based instructional strategies to improve course quality or content.
  • Develop training modules for providers to help them develop high quality programming.
  • Review literature on regular basis to update best practices as needed.
  • Conduct program observations and evaluations to confirm the use of best practices.
  • Additional duties as assigned to support the professional and educational mission of the office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or EdD in education or curriculum development specializing in adult learning.
  • Teaching Experience in higher or professional education.  
  • Experience with Articulate/Rise (or similar) for asynchronous program development
  • 5+ years of experience in adult learning or teaching in continuing education field
  • 5+ years of experience teaching instructional strategies and educational best practices to adult learners.  
  • 2+ years of experience as an instructional designer
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks based on the CME/IPCE process.
