Position Summary

The selected candidates will provide Instructional Design support to the Education, Doctrine, and Instruction for Intelligence Efforts (EDIF-IE) contract. This contract provides support to the Army’s premier intelligence training institution, the US Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (USAICoE), located at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. This is an exciting opportunity for successful applicants to provide support working with various internal/external government stakeholders/partners to identify training needs, design, and create instructor led, computer based, and virtual training using cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions. The selected candidates will lead and foster a collaborative development process while working closely with government and other contract instructional designers, training specialist/developers, media specialists, programmers, subject matter experts, project sponsors and key project stakeholders.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

What You’ll Do

  • Create engaging and effective customized learning products, using sound Instructional Design principles and adult learning methodologies. These products include learning objective documents, assessment strategies, and lesson design documents in support of resident training, remote/virtual learning environments, and blended learning.
  • Review approved methods of instructions for best fit with learning objectives, time available, and instructor-to-student ratios.
  • Maintains currency on changes in educational research and emerging evidence-based trends in education, relevant to education and training conducted by the Intelligence Center of Excellence.
  • Ensures document logic, accuracy, appropriate tone for audience and language consistency.
  • Create detailed content outlines and learning scenarios/vignettes.
  • Designs effective learning activities that accomplish learning objectives.
  • Coordinates with project managers and subject matter experts to ensure that final products achieve the intended learning and training objectives.
  • Design formative and summative assessment strategies. Only occasionally directed in some aspects of the work. Typically requires 4-6 years of experience in training and education, with at least 12 semester college credits in the field of education.
  • Attend IPRs and meetings to gather and provide information on assigned projects and area of expertise.
  • Responsible for developing and accessing documentation in the form of reports, proposals, white papers, and briefings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Teaching
  • Demonstrated 4 or more years of experience in training and education.
  • Demonstrated experience and familiarity of Army and Joint Doctrine, Policy, and Policy development. To include being well versed in today’s Army doctrine, terminology, acronyms and the proper pronunciation of these terms and acronyms
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Army Training and Product Development
  • Demonstrated understanding of conducting and analyzing research and collected data.
  • Experience with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills and familiar with the Army Writing Style
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining timelines and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office products
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to meet all requirements to be issued a Common Access Card (CAC) as set forth on the Defense Human Resource Activity website titled, “Getting Your Common Access Card (CAC),” (accessed 13 May 2013).
  • United States Citizenship
  • Active secret security clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret – Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Graduate of a military service school equivalent to the Army Command and General Staff College (Military Education Level-4)
  • Previous experience at USAICoE
