Job Title: 

Instructional Designer  

Reporting to: 

Sr. Manager, Learning and Development 

Overview:  

We are seeking a creative and experienced Instructional Designer to join our team. The Instructional Designer will play a key role in developing engaging and effective learning materials, courses, and programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of our employees, customers, and other internal/external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, e-learning development, and a passion for creating innovative and impactful learning experiences.  

Key Responsibilities:  

Needs Analysis:  

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to conduct needs assessments and identify learning objectives.
  • Analyze target audience characteristics and tailor instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

Curriculum/Course Development:  

  • Design and develop instructional materials, including but not limited to e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, and multimedia content.
  • Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that align with learning objectives.

Instructional Design Models:  

  • Apply instructional design models and theories to guide the development of effective learning solutions.
  • Utilize adult learning principles to enhance the overall learning experience.

Technology Integration:  

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in instructional design and e-learning.
  • Integrate innovative technologies and tools to enhance the delivery of learning content.
  • Have a working knowledge of instructional design tools (e.g. Articulate, Rise, Storyline, etc.) and be able to apply in a number of settings.

Multimedia Development:  

  • Develop multimedia elements, such as videos, simulations, and interactive exercises, to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and other team members to create visually appealing and engaging content.

Evaluation:  

  • Conduct reviews and evaluations of learning materials to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with learning objectives.
  • Implement feedback and continuously improve instructional materials based on evaluation results.

Project Management:  

  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and ensure effective communication throughout the development process.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Instructional Designer, developing a variety of learning materials.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
  • Strong understanding of instructional design theories, adult learning principles, and learning technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:  

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design or a related field.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and content management systems (CMS).
  • Familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific compliance and training requirements.
