Instructional Designer

Deltek is looking for an instructional designer who can develop interactive sales-focused e-learning to help salespeople sell faster and more efficiently. You will support content creation for various types of learning outputs (classroom/virtual instructor-led training, micro-learning videos, job aids, etc) but will be primarily focused on online content creation.

Leverage knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design to analyze needs, design, develop and implement modern blended learning solutions aligned with business priorities with an emphasis on creating engaging, interactive, learner-centric, and memorable learning experiences.

Position Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the ADDIE course development cycle including needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (project phase reviews as well as course updates). Use strong project management skills in developing outcomes that positively impact the business. Produce status updates in an organized and timely fashion.
• Analyze training materials and training needs to target learning gaps, and work with the Sales Enablement Leadership to quickly resolve them
• Design appropriate learning deliverables or quick curation options that suit the training need as well as the development timeline, and drive change in learner behavior where desired by stakeholders
• Develop a wide array of training content, including online training, assessments, role plays, job aids, presentations, user guides that support: onboarding, continuous development, product education and leadership development within Sales
• Implement your learning solutions on our learning management system, and for classroom/virtual training, you may need to train the trainers.
• Evaluate and revise existing content based on product updates and process changes to maintain its relevance and accuracy

Work within our team and our business

• Develop deep understanding of the sales organization, including (but not limited to) key functions, sales frameworks, processes, and tools
• Collaborate with members from various departments within Deltek to ensure that learning content is accurate, relevant, effective, and aligned with corporate messaging and branding
• Collaborate with the Sales Enablement Leadership to produce curriculums that support the ongoing implementation of Enablement framework and processes to build effective learning experiences

Qualifications

Required

• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• 2+ years’ experience with course and assessment creation and educational video development
• Ability to script, create, and edit micro-learning: short form video and e-learning content
• Ability to work efficiently under deadlines in fast-paced environment with numerous projects on hand
• Familiarity with video and SCORM authoring technologies such as Articulate Rise, Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia (or equivalent authoring tool)
• Attention to detail, excellent collaboration and project management skills
• The ability to rapidly master new technologies, methodologies, and processes to effectively transfer expertise into training content
• Deep understanding of ADDIE, SAM, and other training development frameworks

Highly preferred

• Bachelor’s in Education, English, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of HTML
• Experience with learning management system (LMS) and content management system (CMS) administration
• Familiarity with graphic design, image manipulation, and formatting
• Experience with instructional video production
