Purpose of the Role

The Instructional Designer at Rehrig Pacific plays a critical role in developing and implementing impactful learning solutions within the organization. Responsible for crafting engaging learning modules and resource materials aligned with agreed-upon timelines and training requirements, they ensure the delivery of best-in-class e-learning experiences. By designing and implementing effective learning experiences tailored to specific training objectives, the Instructional Designer fosters a culture of growth and continuous development, shaping Rehrig Pacific’s learning landscape and contributing to the organization’s commitment to excellence in training and development.

Area of Accountabilities

Content Needs Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments while collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Identify learning objectives, goals, and performance gaps to inform the instructional design process.

Curriculum Development:

  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, instructor-led training, job aids, and other learning resources.
  • Create engaging and interactive content that aligns with learning objectives and organizational goals.
  • Provide unique exercises and activities through producing supportive material/media (case studies, simulations, role plays, games, etc.).
  • Ensure content is current, accurate, accessible, and aligns with Rehrig Pacific’s Diversity Inclusion Belonging strategies.

Instructional Design Methodologies:

  • Apply instructional design theories, models, and adult learning principles to create effective and learner-centric content.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional media and technology to enhance the learning/user experience.

Technology Integration:

  • Develop and deliver training programs leveraging e-learning authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), and other technologies
  • Create graphics that translate complex information into easily digestible ideas using a variety of visual design tools (Adobe Suite, Articulate Storyline, Canva, PowerPoint, EduTech, etc).
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and recommend innovative solutions.

Evaluation and Assessment:

  • Implement evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Analyze feedback and performance data to make continuous improvements to instructional materials.
  • Defines criteria to judge learners’ performance and develop assessment instruments for measuring awareness, comprehension, and application.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to gather information and feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on project progress and addressing concerns.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and e-learning.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Captivate) and learning management systems.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Experience with multimedia and graphic design principles.
  • Travel (US Only): 15 – 25%

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Rehrig Pacific, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $79,000.00 to 85,000.00.
