Title: Instructional Designer

About the role:

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of innovative training materials and programs that meet the educational needs of both employees and clients. This role involves working closely with subject matter experts to design engaging learning experiences that enhance skills, knowledge, and performance.

As an Instructional Designer with EMS|MC, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct needs analysis and identify training objectives.
  • Design and develop instructional materials and courses, including e-learning, videos, workshops, and manuals, that are clear, engaging, and effective.
  • Apply instructional design theories and practices to create interactive and learner-centered training solutions.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of training development from conceptualization to delivery and evaluation.
  • Utilize various learning management systems (LMS) to deploy and track training initiatives.
  • Continuously evaluate and update training content to ensure relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Provide support and consultation to both internal teams and clients on best practices in training and development.
  • Stay current with trends in instructional design, technology, and adult learning to drive innovation in training programs.

Requirements

You will be successful in this role if you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 -5 experience in instructional design, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Experience in creating instruction for both external clients and internal employees.
  • Proficient in instructional design software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.  

Key skills we hope you have:

  • Master’s in Adult learning or Instructional Design/Technology a plus
  • Adult learning certificate

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Majority of time spent in a normal office environment. 
  • Possession of motor skills required for use of computer keyboard, telephone, various office equipment and filing of paperwork.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours to support the business as required.
