The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment in accordance with curriculum and program established standards.  The Curriculum Coordinator acts as a lead in organizing, implementing, and supervising the curriculum in the early childhood educational program.  The Curriculum Coordinator is also responsible for teaching, guiding, and mentoring other teachers.

Responsibilities

  • A day in the life of a Curriculum Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
  • Develops components of the center’s teaching and learning plans which included curriculum-related materials.
  • Investigates and gathers resources that aid in the implementation of teaching plans.
  • Ensures that the curriculum complies with all accreditation standards, licensing requirements and quality standards.
  • Develops, leads, and evaluates the educational activities designed at age appropriate levels.
  • Assist in learning environments as needed and additional duties as assigned.
  • Exercises open and respectful communication with families, team members, supervisors and other center staff.
  • Work collaboratively with families, team members, supervisors and other center staff.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies, job competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education/NJ Teaching Certification or other relevant area of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years or more years of hands-on child care teaching experience..
  • Has knowledge of various methods of teaching and instruction.
  • Encompasses knowledge, experience and understanding of Grow NJ Kids Rating System, Criteria and Application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification or Pediatric First Aide or Pediatric Basic Life Support/AED within 30 days of hire.
  • Certified Teacher (NJ Depart of Ed).
  • NJ Workforce Registry within 30 days of hire.
