Getting ready to hire a Creative Director?

Job Description

We are seeking a Creative Director to establish and drive the overall design strategy by providing expertise, leadership, coaching, and support in the development of instructional programs, courses, and content. The CD will partner with academic leadership, divisions, and other stakeholders as needed to plan, produce, implement, and evaluate best-in-class design solutions that enhance learner experience in digital environments. The CD will define our educational creative direction and inspire learning content that is visually and educationally rich.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage the project creative process from concept to completion.
  • Develop an effective creative project strategy based on the project objectives.
  • Creative leadership of all production teams.
  • Lead collaborative sessions for brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas.
  • Review all learning content, troubleshoot issues, and provide effective feedback to the creative and production team.
  • Ensure that all visual communication and learning-content standards are executed effectively.
  • Meet regularly during the project with key stakeholders (faculty, administration, SMEs, production team) to communicate campaign strategies and solutions.
  • Monitor the team’s design process and learning-content development to propose actions for future improvements.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Graphic Design, Project Management, or related area of study; or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.

Requirements

  • 7 years’ working experience in creative design, preferably in an educational environment.
  • 5-7 years of leadership/ managing a team or project management.
  • Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and additional tools related to the project.
  • Demonstrated ability to express concepts and solutions clearly through verbal and written communication.
  • Proven track record with creative leadership, project management, to build positive team dynamics.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in the creative process, graphic design, or brand development.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
