In this position…

  • The Specialist, Learning and Development, working under general direction, is responsible for supporting planning, implementing, and coordinating training and development activities, with consistency in a timely manner.
  • This role will conduct daily operations including assessing enterprise-wide training and development needs and providing training documentation, performance tracking, and training delivery.
  • Additionally, the role will also be responsible for staying updated on trends and industry practices within the Learning and Development domain, collaborating with teams to implement training programs, and ensuring compliance with policies. The role would also maintain accurate and confidential records and data related to Learning and Development matters.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do…

  • Coordinates the delivery of enterprise-wide training programs and online learning pathways for employees across departments on non-technical, general skills and competencies, workplace conduct, etc. subjects to achieve increased team and employee performance.
  • Participates in the testing of new training programs and provides valuable feedback to ensure successful future training deployment initiatives. Monitors and evaluates the progress of trainees and the effectiveness of training using both formal and informal, written, and other evaluation tools.
  • Demonstrates full knowledge of industry best practices in Learning and Development subjects such as need gap assessment, curriculum development, selecting delivery mechanism, and training delivery along with a strong understanding and application of related concepts and principles. Coaches and guides admins, managers, and employees on matters related to course creation, training, and skill development of the team.
  • Participates in the delivery of enterprise-wide Learning and Development special projects to identify skill gaps, training needs and develop new training delivery methods by representing the team as the prime contact, coordinating with senior internal and industry personnel, integrating data and information from multiple sources to identify trends, and evaluating multiple tangible and intangible variables to develop solutions.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams and external vendors for formulating effective programs for all types of employee training and skills needs. Delivers Learning and Development specific communications and policies related to training facilitation and delivery as per established processes.
  • Updates existing HR-specific policies related to employee training and development etc. if necessary to ensure compliance and consistency with relevant laws and companywide policies. Recommends changes to course material and training manuals to meet specific training needs.
  • Supports the development of engaging training materials in various formats such as e-modules, instructor-led, webinars, and blended learning to meet business needs and in alignment with best practices and training trends to maximize engagement and learning retention. Attends seminars to keep up with leading practices and identifies leading instructional design techniques to maximize learner retention and strengthen training programs.
  • Maintains documentation of prior training schedules and records, training performance, and reports the progress of employees during training periods across the enterprise. Assist in the maintenance of the learning management system, review and evaluate system effectiveness and recommend the implementation of system enhancements.

Qualifications

You’ll have…

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with a Master’s degree or 5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Learning and Development, or a related field.
  • Involves occasional (defined as one-third or less of the time) lifting of no more than 10 pounds at a time. Work is performed primarily in a seated position and entails no significant stooping, standing, climbing, walking, etc. Many sedentary jobs require good use of the hands and fingers for repetitive hand-finger actions. Working conditions occur within low to moderate noise levels related to the use of standard office or classroom equipment.
