What to Expect

The Megafactory Training Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to support training needs in Lathrop, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating new hire training for all our Lathrop new hires as well as providing ongoing training for existing team members. They will need to be knowledgeable and have hands on experience in a production environment. This will be a hands-on, lineside role in a manufacturing factory environment. The successful candidate is flexible, confident, and can communicate with different levels of the organization (associate, technician, managers, engineering, etc.) to achieve training targets and goals. You will be expected to challenge and to be challenged, to create, and to innovate. These jobs are not for everyone, you must have a genuine passion for producing the best products in the world. Without passion, you will find what we’re trying to do difficult.

What You’ll Do

  • Work collaboratively with the Tesla onboarding team to ensure a smooth transition into training including scheduling, logistics, and communication. Able to track new hires with a high level of detail, manage certifications / station assignments, and lead a group of workstation trainers per respective shop. Able to work lineside for the entirety of their shift with associates to proactively assess training progress
  • Effectively allocate different groups into the appropriate training to prepare them for their role. Learn new process skills from engineering and shop process owners, keeping up to date with the latest revisions of process operations, and area cross-training to train employees on proper techniques
  • Over communicate with students, stakeholders, managers on what training is planned and completed based on their needs. Communicate closely with production leaders to ensure training efforts are aligned with business need
  • Ensure constant engagement with manufacturing, production leadership, technical writing, process engineering, etc. to keep up to date with the latest revisions of process operations
  • Facilitate live trainings on the manufacturing factory floor for new hires, exiting employees, and any other trainings that may be required
  • Ensure the Learning Management System (LMS) is accurate to ensure we are teaching the latest revision of each course, and ensure Versatility Charts are up to date and accurate to properly track certification coverage across the factory
  • Set the expectations of new hires and existing hires according to Tesla standards so they understand safety, quality, and efficiency

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 2 years working in Tesla Production is a plus (Lead experience preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presenter with passion to facilitate large groups
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates professionalism including communication, dress, and attitude while modelling the company’s core values of integrity, collaboration, and getting it done
  • Proven ability to be highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Background or understanding of adult learning principles and Learning Management System (LMS) is a plus

Expected Compensation

$25.88 – $49.00/hour, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
