Position Information

Under the general supervision of the Director of Employee and Organizational Development (EOD), the Training Coordinator & Learning Systems Analyst provides essential support to further EOD’s objective of delivering impactful training programs and initiatives. This role encompasses both technical and programmatic functions: the incumbent supports the Senior LMS Administrator with day-to-day learning management systems (LMS) administration, end-user helpdesk support, and management of additional platforms such as the EPIC Learning Platform and Franklin Covey’s Impact Platform. LMS-related responsibilities include senior domain and training administration back-up and operations support, such as user account management and access, instructor-led activity and roster maintenance, learner troubleshooting, and maintenance projects. In addition to LMS administration, the Training Coordinator & Learning Systems Analyst works closely with the EOD training team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of program and workshop preparations, communications, scheduling, and materials. This person will provide occasional facilitation support alongside trainers, contributing to campus-wide training initiatives that promote professional development across the university.

The full salary range for the Training Coordinator & Learning Systems Analyst is $61,000 – $106,800 annually.  However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $72,500 annually.   We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

  • Working knowledge of delivering training programs and of other areas of human resources.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and good presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theories and education methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of functional area and understanding of how training may impact other areas.
  • Good analytical skills to understand how business needs can be addressed through the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with current training programs and trends.
  • Good skills in delivering training programs.
  • Working knowledge of conducting needs assessment.
  • SumTotal systems experience
  • Experience with HR systems and identity and access management.

Key Responsibilities

Description

  • 30% – Works under general supervision and receives general instructions regarding on-going training work, with detailed instructions provided on new training projects, assignments and initiatives.
    • Course and Content Management: Organize, and manage all EOD course content within the LMS, ensuring that learning materials, assessments, and resources are accurately configured and accessible to users. Work closely with EOD instructors, and subject matter experts to update course materials and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • 20% – Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
    • Assists with learning management systems administration including end user helpdesk support, and other learning platforms for example administrator for EPIC Learning Platform, Franklin Covey’s Impact Platform etc. Support the day-to-day operation of the UC Learning Center Learning (UCLC), including, managing user accounts, and activity and roster maintenance. Regularly monitor the UCLC performance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate as needed for technical problem resolution.
  • 10% – Monitors training results through employee progress and maintains records of training attendance to determine program effectiveness.
    • In collaboration with the EOD team creates and maintains evaluation surveys. Provides reports from survey data. Maintains training records in UC Learning Center; updates rosters, records completion information, etc.
  • 10% – Gathers and analyzes training resource data, prioritizes work assignments and develops training program recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
  • 10% – Applies organization policies, procedures and programs in addressing training needs among various functions
  • 10% – Act as the online producer for virtual instructor-led training (VILT) sessions, with a thorough understanding of course training materials.
  • 5% – Applies professional training concepts.
