We are in search of a Senior Learning Designer III to join our Learning and Development department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters).  This full-time position reports to Learning and Development Leadership and develops engaging and effective learning content that drives performance and helps our employees thrive. This senior level role leads the design, development, and delivery of journey-based learning for roles across the organization from new employees to senior leadership.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and one-time home office stipend after initial training period. 

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position in Spokane, Washington is $76,000 – $119,000; bonus at target is 12% of salary.

Job Requirements

  • Design, develop, and lead delivery of journey-based learning in various learning areas. These groups may include new employee onboarding, all staff, supervisors, specialized roles, and leadership development.
  • Apply learning-centric and design thinking concepts that align with the organization’s learning and development (L&D) strategy to support a culture of learning and achieve business goals and learning objectives.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business goals and challenges and recommend learning and non-learning solutions. 
  • Understand organizational priorities and learner needs to define and align learning outcomes and deliver effective learning. 
  • Create and refine learning materials and recourses and work with subject matter experts across the organization to build learning content in alignment with learning design. 
  • Collaborate with L&D team and other teams to coordinate, align, and leverage interdependent roles and responsibilities within the L&D operating model and across the organization.
  • Proactively solicit learning and stakeholder feedback and review learning metrics to assess performance and identify priorities for continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure all learning content in assigned areas remains up-to-date and aligns with established standards and content governance processes and timelines.
  • Build and deliver presentations and facilitate in-person, online, and recorded learning experiences.
  • Plan and coordinate cross-functional and cross-divisional projects and teams.
  • Write learning content, communications, and proposals for audiences at all levels, including executive and senior leaders.
  • Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of leading L&D theories, frameworks, technology, and design practices.
  • Participate in annual processes to update the L&D Strategy, annual plan, and budget.
  • Participate in the development and support of new and ongoing organizational frameworks and culture initiatives (e.g. Clifton Strengths, Inclusion and Belonging, Etc.).
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Generally requires a BA/BS with seven years’ related experience or MA/MS and five years’ related experience in Instructional Design Organizational Development, Digital Learning Technology, and/or Adult Education/Learning Theory, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with business unit leads and internal stakeholders to create innovative and engaging learning experiences
  • Solid understanding and proven application of adult learning principles and instructional design to create digital learning experiences, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Small and large group facilitation skills, across a wide variety of audiences
  • Effective verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to a diverse audience
  • Proven project management skills with experience managing multiple streams of work with multiple clients simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner, influence and collaborate
  • Ability to use learning management systems (LMS) functions to deploy and organize content and manage assignments and use analytics to track, report and integrate with other tools

Preferred Requirements

  • Fluent in learning technologies and one or more major authoring tools
  • Experience incorporating multimedia elements (audio, video, and graphics) into blended learning solutions
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and design-thinking practice
