How You Will Make An Impact

The ideal Senior Instructional Designer will have a passion for training, technology, and instructional design, with the ability to create interactive and engaging learning experiences. Working cross-functionally to understand the learning and development needs of various functions and departments, the Senior Instructional Designer will help drive a team of experts to design, operationalize, and scale learning programs that align with our ongoing commitment to the growth of our people and continuous learning and improvement.

Working in a collaborative environment in a growing organization, the Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the planning, design, and maintenance of holistic development programs for Meissner and support implementation and maintenance of Meissner’s Learning Management System (LMS). The Senior Instructional Designer acts as Learning and Development’s representative for change initiatives and designs and develops a learning framework to create a complete instructional program.

  • Leads need assessments to diagnose Meissner’s talent needs by using professional consulting skills, such as utilizing surveys, focus groups interviews, direct job observation, and review of existing organizational data.
  • Serves as the Learning and Development’s SME on assigned organizational change initiatives; develops comprehensive curriculum and implementation plans for the initiatives.
  • Researches, recommends, develops, and implements quality and productivity improvement programs to address employee morale, teamwork, and organizational effectiveness. Shares process with team members to aid in the development of the team and department overall.
  • Designs and develops custom content without relying on pre-existing vendor materials to implement and evaluate training programs/projects on a variety of topics, including but not limited to, sales, service, production operations, fabrication, professional skills, product knowledge, time management, supervisory skills, and management development. Ensures facilitators are included to transition into a scalable offering for the L&D Department.
  • Ensures training records are maintained including position competency assessments, needs analysis findings and program participation for both in-house and external training programs.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.

The Skills And Experience You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5-7 years of creating virtual and face-to-face training. Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) credential through the Association for Talent Development (ATD) or equivalent certification, preferred.
  • Strong track record of curriculum design in a project or change initiative settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting consultative needs analyses and implementing scalable training programs across broad and differing business units.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Applications, Adobe Design Tools, Articulate design tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS).

US BASE PAY SCALE $86,500 – $122,800

The base pay scale for this role is what Meissner reasonably expects to pay for the position although actual pay may vary from this scale depending on an applicant’s experience.
