The Senior Analyst Learning Analytics supports Crewleaders and Crewmembers, both operational and JetBlue University (JBU), in data driven decision making. Through the development and facilitation of both formal and informal learning opportunities, the Senior Analyst educates Crewleaders and Crewmembers on the effective use of data. The Senior Analyst also supports the planning of analyses to continuously improve the effectiveness, learning transfer, and impact of JBU’s interventions. In addition, the Senior Analyst provides assessment and evaluation expertise to determine individual and team performance requirements, to identify gaps and potential causes of performance issues, and to recommend performance improvement interventions that will enhance individual and team efficiency and effectiveness.  Finally, the Senior Analyst maintains leadership responsibilities, through direction and coordination of the Analyst(s).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of JetBlue’s training programs, business needs, initiatives, and goals
  • Identify and implement data collection and measurement strategies to ensure continuous improvement across all components of JBU curricula and learning delivery methods
  • Employ the practical application of program evaluation theory to help organizational leaders identify success metrics and to ensure timely measurement
  • Conduct needs assessments through data analysis, interviews, observations, questionnaires, focus groups, and other research methodologies to identify individual and organizational training and performance support needs
  • Act as the subject matter expert on internal and external data sources, ensure accuracy of reported data, and as needed, support Learning Analytics leadership in revising flow of processes for continued optimization of data collection and reporting
  • Build dashboards and other data visualizations using tools such as Tableau
  • Support JBU’s learning analytics by staying abreast of needs assessment and evaluation best practices
  • Proactively conducts peer mentoring or training on topics related to Learning Analytics
  • Share knowledge and skills both within and outside of JBU, advancing the culture of measurement within JetBlue and in the professional community, through offerings such as the JetBlue Insight Network (JIN)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design, or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience
  • Three (3) years’ experience in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology
  • Strong facilitation skills (e.g., able to facilitate a cross-functional class with many different personalities, can lead teams to consensus, guide groups to self-discover rather than lecturing, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a consulting capacity building successful internal/external customer relationships
  • Experience applying data collection, analysis, visualization best practices to ensure action
  • Experience using relational databases and experience coding in computer languages such as R
  • Knowledge of program evaluation theory and approaches
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Experience with training metrics and evaluation methodologies
  • Experience with performance and cause analysis
  • Advanced critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Proven experience with project planning, execution, and management
  • Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Upbeat, positive, and a “can-do” attitude with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Available for overnight travel
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred in Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design, or related field
  • Six (6) years’ experience in Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology
  • Experience applying program evaluation theory and practices in a corporate setting
  • Experience applying descriptive and inferential statistics in a corporate setting
  • Experience utilizing multiple data sources and approaches for training evaluation
  • Proven application of performance and cause analysis for performance improvement

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
