Fire Protection Publications is a mission-driven, values-based organization dedicated to the production of high-quality educational content for the international community of firefighters and first responders.

As a FPP Project Specialist – Curriculum Developer, you will research, compose, and/or edit original text for drafts of new or revised curriculum materials, evaluation instruments, multi-media materials, fire service training manuals, marketing materials and newsletter. Participate in the implementation of goals and objectives for Fire Protection Publications and monitor and Explore latest developments in vocational training, adult education, fire service training. May represent FPP and IFSTA at meetings, conferences and other related functions. Deliver presentations and curriculum orientations at seminars, conferences, university functions or staff meetings upon request.

This position is based on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater, OK. It is an office-based position; remote and hybrid work are not currently an option for this role.

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field

One year related working experience.

Ability to analyze technical information and develop curriculum material and evaluation instruments to support it; edit and proofread training materials. Ability to work from a file server in a shared network environment. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft and PowerPoint. Demonstrated understanding and application of FPP’s organizational values: Service, Safety, Quality, Integrity, Excellence, Professionalism, Accuracy, Collaboration, Credibility, Innovativeness, Accountability. Highly organized, ability to set and maintain schedules, excellent writing skills, excellent communication skills, attention to details, time management, ability to influence and guide a group toward a common goal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Secondary, Adult, Vocational or Occupational Education, Educational Psychology, Technical Writing, Fire Protection, Curriculum and Instruction or related field.

Firefighter, Fire Officer, Fire Instructor certification. Vocational education in emergency service field.
