Job Summary

We are looking for an accomplished and innovative Manager of Learning Solutions and Instructional Technology with experience in Canvas and a strong background in accessibility standards to lead the development of engaging and effective learning solutions. In this role, you will design and develop interactive, multimedia-rich courses while ensuring that content meets accessibility standards and undergoes and meets testing requirements.  Reporting to the Director for IT Systems and Services, you will partner with faculty and course operations on recommending best practices for creating and implementing high quality educational video content, and may edit or perfect video.

You have a deep understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, pedagogies to employ in both online and residential courses, and proficiency with a variety of learning management systems (LMS) and tools. You will play a key role in guiding the instructional design work of the school, and collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop content that enhances learner engagement and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of educational experiences and development of instructional materials across various formats, including, but not limited to residential, blended, and online courses using Canvas, e-learning modules, and other types of learning experiences.
  • Educate on and apply adult learning theories and instructional design best practices to create effective, learner-centered content.
  • Partner with faculty and subject matter experts (SMEs) to define and/or refine learning objectives, analyze content, and ensure accuracy and relevance of all instructional materials.
  • Improve instructional materials based on learner testing outcomes and performance data.
  • Ensure all learning materials comply with accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), reduce barriers and secure equal access to technology for all students. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, with Canvas experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience teaching, training, or instructing. 
  • Experience with meeting accessibility standards, including WCAG and Section 508 compliance.
  • Experience using  instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and applying adult learning theories in course designs. 
  • Video editing skills with experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Camtasia.
