Overview

This role is based in the US and can be fully Remote (virtual). 

We are looking to hire a Manager, Learning & Development / Instructional Designer – Retail who will play a critical role in building the capability of our dynamic retail team through the delivery of best-in-class learning solutions.  You will be responsible for researching, developing, and designing creative training materials to drive a culture of learning and ensure the long-term effectiveness and adoption of training programs.  You will leverage your expertise in adult learning theory to develop a variety of content and a curriculum that grows the knowledge, skills, and abilities of a vast population of over 40,000 retail team members.

We prioritize a blended approach to learning; this role will require both in-person and virtual facilitation as well as delivering e-learning content through the Company’s learning and communication platform. It will require the production of high quality, scalable learning experiences for retail team members that can be measured against behavioral changes in employees’ performance skill and the business’ performance.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage their strong collaboration skills to consult with cross-functional project teams, leaders, SMEs, field partners, vendors, and stakeholders to clearly understand target audience and content needs to construct learning and performance outcomes
  • Utilize project management fundamentals to build detailed and attainable project plans that include tracking, milestones, deliverables, and communication/review cadences
  • Lead the project management from concept to design to implementation of learning solutions
  • Apply adult learning theories, instructional design systems, and creative approaches to write and develop programs that achieve objectives and meet the needs of the target retail audience
  • Create a diverse range of instructional materials and content including custom graphics, agendas, outlines, presentations, storyboards, process-oriented documentation
  • Create intellectually challenging and engaging training materials including, but not limited to, videos, e-learning, instructional aids, instructor-led workshops, etc. for core retail competencies (i.e.: customer experience, selling behaviors, product knowledge, professional & leadership skills, compliance, etc.)
  • Produce engaging, high-quality training videos utilizing various multimedia elements to enhance engagement and comprehension
  • Facilitate classroom and virtual training programs
  • Provide coaching and training (Train the Trainer) sessions for HR business partners and SMEs to help conduct and sustain necessary learning
  • Through collection of data, surveys, and team member sentiment, measure and provide feedback on the effectiveness and ROI of the training deliverables
  • Conduct ongoing audits of existing curriculum and ensure format or content changes/updates are completed in a timely manner
  • Manage all administrative responsibilities of the Learning & Communication platform for the North America Retail team, including developing and uploading content, content translation, reporting, troubleshooting helpdesk tickets and identifying engagement opportunities
  • Champion a culture of learning, performance, and empowerment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of retail learning & development experience which includes creating curriculum and content designed for both classroom and virtual settings
  • Higher/Professional Education required
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Demonstrated instructional design ability, use of ADDIE model and core learning theories, frameworks, and assessments
  • Experience with evaluating and implementing digital learning solutions
  • Continuous learning mindset and curiosity to remain abreast of latest trends and insights in digital learning and adult education
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Forms, etc.) and virtual instructor-led platforms (Adobe Connect)
  • Experience utilizing video editing software and multimedia tools to enhance production quality and create polished final work products  (Canva, Powtoon, Adobe Premier Pro, Camtasia, or Final Cut Pro preferred)
  • Consumer-centric approach
  • Ability to travel as needed

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $80000 – $90000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
