Job Summary

Responsible for supporting L&D program development initiatives and for delivery of various Synovus leadership development, talent development, specialty talent and professional development learning programs to include, but not limited to early talent, hi-potential, leadership and BAU programs. This role will partner closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and L&D colleagues to build and continually innovate on inclusive learning experiences, talent development strategies, and team-building sessions which align with company values/culture and meet the business fast-growing high-growth environment

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the research, development, and customization of learning solutions to support the talent pipeline and the needs of the business. This includes items such as providing basic instructional design to quickly stand up leadership and talent solutions for target audiences; managing basic to moderately complex and long-term talent development programs such as early/campus talent, I&D, high potential or high professional initiatives; executing pre-established strategies and experiences that support leaders and managers at different career levels (e.g., first time manager, experienced leader); implementing leadership programs and deploying resources ranging from online learning materials to multi week virtual leadership and/or skill development workshops; and program management of parts of leadership initiatives (in-person, virtual live, or online) and processes based on learning roadmap.
  • Handles facilitation of short workshops and team building activities; internal learning programs and off the shelf vendor programs; and/or working with facilitators to deliver ongoing developmental experiences. Responsible for organizing and facilitating peer learning community groups for continuous learning including supporting “train the trainer” programs led by training key leaders to facilitate session; selecting and curating relevant leadership content for self-directed consumption and facilitating programmatic and custom design learning programs, short workshops and team building activities with excellent facilitator ratings.
  • Under the guidance of Sr. L&D leadership, consults with the business and talent management partners to understand the current and future leadership skillsets and talent pipeline needs of the organization; engages with HR business partners and internal clients to consult about how to achieve goals and increase the performance of individuals and teams; and manages and provides consulting services on topics including: leadership strategy; leadership and high-potential development strategy; succession/talent management; assessment tools; professional coaching and development; design/implementation of development solutions; diversity & inclusion strategy and development; organizational effectiveness & transformation advisory; employee engagement & experience design and facilitation; culture & behavior change strategy and implementation; and women in leadership solutions.
  • Completes and debriefs 360 feedback instruments, personality assessments and potential assessments. Provides professional coaching to first line managers and mid level leaders in a sensitive, effective manner.
  • Leads a team of specialty talent program participants. Responsible for the supervision of the Internship program (up to 30 interns during a 10 week period over the summer) and direct supervisor of the Accelerated Banker program (~15 direct reports over the year-long program). Sets expectations for learning and performance and holds team members accountable for successful participation in program. Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to support their growth and development. Ensures the ongoing development and engagement of the team, results in in continuous improvement of process, work product, and productivity.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Organizational Development, Business Communication, Education/Training, Adult Education, Communications, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in design and delivery of training programs with a thorough knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and creative training methodologies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Moderate to expert level facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and coach various levels of the organization
  • Basic experience leveraging technology to curate and deliver high-impact learning
  • Foundational experience in education/instructional design with the ability to develop instructional materials for multiple delivery methodologies
  • Professional coaching first line and mid-level leaders
  • Strong critical thinking skills, and basic performance consulting background
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employee and organizational development methodologies and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
