Job Description

Position: E-Learning Instructional/Learning Experience Designer

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This pivotal role in our training team involves crafting dynamic and impactful e-learning/training experiences; This role will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) across various business functions to bring these training projects to life.

Instructional Design And Development

  • Design and develop engaging and interactive e-learning courses, instructional materials, and other educational resources.
  • Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methods (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).

Content Creation

  • Create and curate content for various learning modalities, including online, blended, and face-to-face instruction.
  • Develop multimedia elements (videos, graphics, animations) to enhance learning experiences.

Needs Analysis

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning objectives and performance gaps.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine content requirements and ensure accuracy.

Project Management

Manage multiple instructional design projects from inception to completion. Ensure timely delivery of projects by coordinating with team members, SMEs, and stakeholders.

Evaluation And Assessment

  • Develop assessments to measure learning outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Analyze feedback and performance data to continuously improve instructional materials.

Learning Management System (LMS) Administration

  • Manage and administer courses within an LMS.
  • Ensure courses are properly uploaded, tracked, and maintained.

Technology Integration

  • Utilize e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to create course content.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and integrate them into learning solutions.

Quality Assurance

  • Review and edit content for quality, consistency, and instructional effectiveness.
  • Conduct pilot testing and usability testing of learning materials.

Training And Support

  • Provide training and support to instructors, facilitators, and learners on the use of instructional materials and technologies.
  • Offer guidance on best practices in instructional design and e-learning.

Documentation And Reporting

  • Maintain documentation of design processes, project plans, and instructional materials.
  • Prepare reports on project progress, learning outcomes, and impact assessments.

Collaboration And Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including SMEs and other team members.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align instructional design efforts with organizational goals.

Experience

BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience working with Learning Management Platforms (Eg: Tovuti, etc)
  • Experience with E-learning authoring tools.
  • Proven experience with instructional design and e-learning development
  • Proven experience with E-learning development tools and technologies

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in E-learning authoring and development tools (Eg: Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, Microsoft’s Office Suite, and Adobe’s Creative Suite)
  • Understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design principles
  • Experience using ADDIE, SAM, or Agile methodology.
  • Basic knowledge of related web development technologies (HTML 5, CSS and Java script is a plus)
  • Experience creating storyboards and translating them into engaging web-based learning modules.
  • Familiarity with SCORM and other e-learning training standards (i.e. aggregate Shareable Content Objects (SCOs) to create SCORM compliant content packages) for delivery on the LMS.

Instructional Design Skills

  • Strong understanding of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, etc)
  • Ability to develop engaging and interactive learning experiences
  • Experience in conducting needs assessment and GAP analyses
  • Meticulous attention to detail in design and content accuracy

Creativity

  • Ability to create visually appealing and effective learning materials
  • Innovative and creative approach to instructional design and learning solutions

Analytical Skills

  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven improvements
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in Project Management
  • Familiarity with multimedia tools for creating interactive content
  • Ability to train and support end-users on LMS functionalities
  • Experience in a corporate training environment

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional design, Education Technology or a related field.
