Technical Training Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Memphis, Tennessee. You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Provides ABB Electrification Installation Products technical training solutions to internal, external, and end users. Training content will include online, instructional videos, as well as instructor-led delivery materials in support of ABB business objectives.
  • Responsible for all assigned product training requirements, including but not limited to online e-learning, how-to-videos, webinar content, virtual classroom content, and face-to-face content creation, as well as maintenance, improvements, and updates as needed.
  • Assists in the needs assessment process and makes suggestions to improve design, creation, innovation, and updates of training programs or materials.
  • Collaborates with other Instructional Designers and subject matter experts in the development of train-the-trainer materials enhancing the demonstration of delivery concepts and improving the customer journey.
  • Requires ability to storyboard and develop easily accessible and understood technical solutions based on application and specific customer needs.
  • Must be proficient in Windows OS, general Instructional Design tools and methods, Microsoft Teams, Office Suite, and multimedia applications.
  • Should possess an aggressive determination to succeed, model work ethic, and ability to work independently as well as a team.
  • Must demonstrate excellent presentation, verbal, and written skills in English (Multi-lingual a plus), and professional representation with a strong desire to educate and help others succeed. Ideally, the candidate would be available for part-time employment from January 2025 to April 2025, with the possibility of extending to full-time employment from May 2025 to August 2025.

Qualifications for the role

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Teaching, Training, Educational/Learning Technologies, Instructional Design, Masters in Education, Business Administration/ Business Management, Organizational Management, Human Resources or Marketing Management, within the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
