McGraw-Hill Education, the leading provider of digital and print educational materials is looking for a creative, innovative, strategic  Instructional Designer, Health  for our Health programs.You will be a valuable member of a collaborative group of Instructional Designers, closely partnering with teams focused on content, product management, UX, and creative media. As part of this team, you will create robust digital tools,curriculumand learning solutions in a variety of formats that are used by millions of educators and students every day.

The Instructional Designer, Health is a digital savvy content and curriculum expert, responsible and accountable for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements for the Social Studies programs.   

This is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere across the United States 

What you will be doing:

Using Instructional Design skills, you will: 

  • Contribute to specific early product workstreams, under the direction of management and senior members of the team.   
  • Contribute heavily in the creation of digital POC’s and prototypes using proprietary and collaborative tools. 
  • Use a UBD process, you will collaborate to design, storyboard, anddevelop digital curriculum assets such as simulations and interactive assets. 
  • Contribute to concept meetings, review manuscript, and create storyboards. 

In regard to Content Authoring, you will: 

  • Provide heavy contributions with digital tools, serving under the leadership of management and senior members of the team  
  • Play a significant role in user testing, working under the leadership of management and senior members of the team  
  • Provide informal product training to associate instructional designers.   
  • Lead digital build workflows through all stages of development meeting all intermediate and final milestones. 

In regard to Quality Implementation, you will:

  • Be expert voice for accessibility with strong contributions to this area throughout the product development process.   
  • Be a key contributor to the product build process. 
  • Develop digital content authoring guidelines, answer vendor questions,and contribute to weekly vendor statusmeetings. 
  • Contributeon cross-functional teams to ensure that product requirements, project schedules, and product goals are metand on completed on time.   
  • Play a significant role supporting digital vendor launches by delivering templates, trackers, and digital content development guidelines. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members toidentify, test, troubleshoot, define, and follow up on technical bugs and enhancements as they arise in authoring tools and the platform. When necessary, help define requirements for platform and authoring toolenhancements 
  • Complete digital product development tasks including metadata tagging, concept mapping, and digital editing. 
  • QA the work of vendors to ensure it adheres toguidelines. 

What you need to be considered: 

  • Bachelor’sormaster’sdegree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related fieldrequired.   
  • 1 – 3years experienceworking in digital content development that includes teaching and learning materials. 
  • Experience managing multiple projects within tight deliverables and budgets. 
  • Strong ability to communicate 
  • Some experience with authoring tools, learning management systems, and content management systems. 
  • Some ability to create and visualize animated and interactive content.
  • Previous teaching experience in Health or Life Sciences 
  • Experience in instructional design or educational technology 

The pay range for this position is between $50,000 – $70,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.  Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
