Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an Instructional Designer due to current and projected expansions in our business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts and L&D professionals to design and develop comprehensive in-house training programs.
  • Assist in facilitating needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and determine learning objectives.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE) to create innovative and engaging training content, including e-learning modules, instructor-led sessions, job aids, and blended learning experiences.
  • Create training materials that incorporate adult learning principles and instructional best practices to enhance knowledge retention and application and achieve learning objectives.
  • Continuously improve training programs by incorporating feedback, keeping content up-to-date, and integrating new technologies or learning methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and Subject Matter Experts to gather information and verify content accuracy.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Provide input on curriculum design, course development, and content organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by Learning and Development Lead.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in instructional design or developing training content.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SMEs to develop effective training programs.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong creative skills related to generating learning content including: copy-writing, editing, graphic design, video production and editing, sound editing.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Office.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design models, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Premiere.
  • Certification in instructional design or a related area.
  • Familiarity with gamification, microlearning, and other innovative training methods.

Pay Range

$30.00 to $40.00 per hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
