Position Summary:
Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) is seeking an Instructional Designer for its Distance Learning Department. This is a full-time, 12-month, professional staff position located in Portales, New Mexico. The Instructional Designer reports to the Director of Distance Learning.
The person in this position will collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the development and design of online/hybrid courses. Specifically, the individual will provide hands-on instructional design support, and training on effective course design and instruction. Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate skill in enhancing the quality of online courses, and will possess current QM certification, or can obtain one following hire. This is a residential appointment and campus presence is required.

Insurance
Insurance for Eastern New Mexico University is offered through the New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority. High coverage and low coverage options are offered for medical and dental insurance so employees can choose the plan that’s right for them.
Retirement
Eastern New Mexico University participates with the New Mexico Educational Retirement Board (NMERB), Social Security, and Medicare.
The University also offers supplemental retirement plans. 403b plans are available through TIAA/CREF, AIG VALIC, and MetLife. 475b plans are offered through TIAA/CREF.
Paid Time Off
Full time exempt employees accrue 14.66 hours of annual leave and 14 hours of medical leave per month. Employees must work for the University for three months before they are eligible to use annual leave. Leave accruals will be pro-rated for part time employees. Temporary employees do not accrue leave.
Employee Educational Assistance Plan
Eastern New Mexico University offers a tuition waiver for regular employees and retirees. This program waives the tuition for one course (up to four credit hours) per semester. Employees’ spouses may be eligible to use the tuition waiver during any semester that it is not being used by the employee.
