The Instructional Designer (Instructional Systems Designer/ISD) is responsible for proactively reviewing training needs, presenting delivery media recommendations and developing learning solutions to address performance gaps identified by our business partners and/or assist in the development of our associates. The ISD utilizes instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate instructional materials and development programs. Deliverables include instructor led, blended, e-learning and m-learning instructional curricula, supporting job aids and other learning materials, communication and reference materials, and Train the Trainer sessions for facilitators. This is a Hybrid position working in-office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and virtually on Thursday and Friday.

How You’ll Shine:

  • Multi Media Courseware Design:  Design training programs and processes (including facilitator materials, outlines, activities, e-learning modules, videos etc.) for Travel + Leisure Co. internal business clients (Resort Operations, Corporate HR, new and existing), with both operational and leadership topics. Develop course methods and facilitator/participant materials that integrate instructor-led facilitation (including virtual), blended approach, case studies, experiential learning exercises, and e-learning/m-learning modules.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple ISD projects supported by multiple Subject Matter Experts, Co-creators, content reviewers, and facilitators. Execute deliverables within established parameters of time and budget. Execute on the projects developed, ensuring alignment with Travel + Leisure Co’s goals, L&D enterprise priorities, and Corporate Business partner priorities.
  • Measurement, Reporting & Support:  Design, deploy and report on post-course assessments, and make recommendations based on results. Serve as an L&D SME and provide consultative and actionable support for the Learning Management System. Support the “Learning Consortium” LMS administrator user-base.
  • Facilitation:  Facilitates Train the Trainer sessions for the materials developed as part of the design process.
  • Other: Miscellaneous tasks as required by the role

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development / Adult Learning / Business Management or Facilitation/Instructional Design (or like discipline) with a virtual learning concentration. Work experience can be utilized in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • 3+ years of experience with basic project management skills related to Training Content Development desired
  • 3+ years developing learning experiences desired
  • 2+ years of hospitality industry experience desired
  • Working knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology and Facilitation techniques
  • Working knowledge of classroom and e-learning instructional design, text, video treatments\strategies
  • Knowledge of techniques for the evaluation of learning
  • Working knowledge of integrating courseware with a Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of varying backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a time sensitive environment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Required: PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Required: Knowledge of remote meeting software (Zoom, MS Teams)
  • Desired: Utilization and administration of SCORM compliant Learning Management Systems (i.e. Workday Learning)
  • Desired: Working knowledge of Courseware (eLearning) development software (i.e. Articulate Storyline)
  • Desired: Basic knowledge of the Adobe graphic software suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) desired
