What to Expect

The Instructional Designer, Factory Training will develop engaging learning experiences and training solutions in a variety of media to improve production KPIs. This is a unique opportunity to work on a world-class instructional design team that crossfunctions with various Tesla stakeholders, analyzes difficult problems, designs novel solutions, develops JIT training in a fast-paced environment, implements in the most effective ways, and evaluates behavior change. An extraordinary degree of creativity and self-motivation is expected.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the ADDIE process—end-to-end—of individual projects (ILT, eLearning, Blended, and Other Assets)
  • Collaborate with a high-performance team and cross-function with others
  • Consult with SMEs and stakeholders
  • Develop Storyline (and Rise), PowerPoint, hands-on training, graphics, and video deliverables
  • Analyze needs, gaps, process improvements, learning paths, training updates, KPI metrics, course bugs, tasks, and job roles

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or 2 years of instructional design work experience
  • Portfolio of work and/or an assigned writing sample with demo
  • Work at least 40 hours per week on-site in a bright, loud, changing environment (NOT remote or hybrid)
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, design, and presentation skills with ability to successfully communicate complex technical training
  • Open collaborative style; ability to work both in a team environment (taking critical feedback) and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing, and Articulate Storyline
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
