The Instructional Designer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and evaluating training to improve organizational effectiveness using a variety of training tools and techniques.  This position will create training that addresses organizational performance and learning needs of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation.  This includes the onboarding training program for all new hires, skill enhancement/improvements courses to drive continuous education and learning, system/technical training and management fundamentals.  This role will require a strong level of project management skills and tools to successfully manage multiple projects that may have competing priorities.  Additionally, the Instructional Designer will build strong working relationship with team members and management to develop training and provide ongoing support. This includes building a strong partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation to effectively develop training content that meets the learning objectives outlined.

We’re currently looking for an Instructional Designer to join our team in Irving, TX.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform needs analysis and suggests instructional approach; estimate timeline and resources; design and develop courses; administer production, quality control and implementations.
  • Design courses using adult learning principles and integrate interactive concepts and activities in both instructor-led and distance formats to encourage knowledge application, retention and skill development.
  • Ensure training deliverables are developed with high quality and within efficient timelines.
  • Identifies training requirements by conferring with the training team, managers and employees
  • Resolve issues to determine creative solutions and training methods based on organizational need 

As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of evidence-based education, cognitive learning theory and instructional design and development.
  • Consultative, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Highly collaborative and able to build strong relationships internally and externally across all lines of business
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Detail oriented and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Years of Experience:

Minimum three (3) to eight (8) years of experience developing courseware and self-paced training.

Experience in the auto finance or financial services industry preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required: in Instructional Design/Training preferred

Specific Course/Certifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience using rapid development tools such as: Articulate Studio, Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia and Adobe Creative Cloud application.
  • Experience in selecting and manipulating graphic images for use in learning materials using imaging and design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Snagit or other tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft OUTLOOK, PCRS, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.
  • Certification in Adobe eLearning Suite or equivalent instructional design tool preferred.

Travel Required?

Occasional day or overnight travel.
