About this Position:   

Apply ADDIE and other relevant educational and adult learning methods and theories in the creation of e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended courses covering manufacturing equipment maintenance and other technical topics. Collaborate with subject matter experts in the design, development, and revision of courses. Effectively manage projects/workload to meet established deadlines. Work with Training Administration team to implement new and revised courses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions covering manufacturing equipment maintenance and other technical topics including the design and development of SCORM packages, printed materials (i.e., facilitator/instructor guides, student materials, job aids), PowerPoint presentations, video and other media content. Finalize materials through reviews, developmental test, pilots, etc.
  • Support collaboration with internal customers and subject matter experts to identify specific learning opportunities, analyze training gaps, design and develop training solutions that will improve the performance of Honda associates.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance (review & update) of e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions.
  • Manage training development projects using standard project management principles.
  • Support the assessment of the need for new learning technology and methods that can be implemented in the Technical Development Center.

Who we are seeking: 

Required Work Experience:

  • Degree or certificate in Instructional Design (or equivalent) or 4 years equivalent experience

Required Education:

  • With a certificate in Instructional Design – 0-4 years
  • Without a certificate – 4+ years

Desired skills:

  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of instructional design, adult learning theory, curriculum development, needs assessment, and training evaluation.
  • Experience applying instructional design skills to the design and development of e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning.
  • Experience using computer software common to instructional design including Microsoft Office, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Cloud (Captivate, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition), Snag-it
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Experience in / familiarity with a manufacturing and/or equipment maintenance environment
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with learning management systems
  • Familiarity with online development tools/resources (i.e., Vyond, iStock)
  • Ability to engage with internal and external customers and establish a collaborative working relationship.
  • Innovative thinking, action oriented, ability to drive system and process improvements.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • A passion for learning and ability to quickly learn technical concepts.
  • Experience delivering instructor-led training.
  • Ability to work on projects as part of a team as well as alone.

Additional Position Factors:

  • Travel 5 %required, as needed.
