Partner with Spears School of Business faculty in designing and developing immersive learning experiences in an online format.

Provide instructional assistance to faculty in designing and developing course delivery for online classes. Coach faculty in defining their desired learning outcomes and selecting learning activities that promote achievement of these outcomes and student success. Coordinate with instructional support staff and media production personnel to organize course pages in a manner that is user-friendly and intuitive for students. Evaluate existing courses and provide feedback for design or delivery improvements that would be likely to enhance the achievement of desired learning outcomes and student success. Ensure compliance with university and college policies, as well as business accreditations standards.

Participate in professional development programs and activities to stay current on instructional design models and theories, and education and emerging technologies. Develop and facilitate training for online instructors. Develop and manage mass communication efforts to faculty.

Assist faculty in adopting new and/or innovative technologies that help achieve desired learning outcomes. Assist faculty in defining their desired learning outcomes, selecting learning activities and technologies that promote achievement of those outcomes. Coordinate with department personnel and faculty to review new online course proposals and provide feedback.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field and three years of experience.
    -OR-
  • Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field and one year of experience in related field
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning theories, instructional models and practices, and understanding of the teaching and learning context.
  • Knowledge of education technology, and pedagogical alignment of instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to coach and mentor faculty one-on-one and in a group setting. Ability to be flexible, collaborative, work independently, and detailed oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of teaching experience in secondary education and/or higher education.
  • Two years of experience in providing curriculum design support, and three years teaching experience in secondary education and/or higher education. Helpful to have higher education teaching experience in business discipline, but not required.
  • Knowledge of the learning management system Canvas.
