Position Summary:
The Instructional Designer will design and develop learning and practicing experiences in order to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. The Instructional Designer will use strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to communicate and educate our leaders and employees.Requirements

One (1) to two (2) years related experience in training and development

Skills And Knowledge
Strong written and verbal English grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage & pronunciation. Knowledge & application of adult learning principles. Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts. Strong interpersonal skills in both client interactions and team interactions and a proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology. Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models. Lesson and curriculum planning skills. Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System.

Essential Functions:

  • Define objectives/outcomes for a course and curriculum.
  • Outline the concept for a course or curriculum, defining (needs for) the course medium, content delivery, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches.
  • Quickly synthesize and write course content based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, interviews, etc.
  • Design quizzes and meaningful course interactions to increase learning and retention.
  • Work with subject matter experts and course sponsors to collect feedback and integrate it into the course.
  • Proof course at multiple stages of development and make or document required changes.
  • Work with client via email, phone, and in person to collect information needed to complete curriculum.
  • Keep up to date on learning tools, trends, and ideas, including the use of social media and contemporary learning solutions.
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods including the ADDIE instructional design model.
  • Determine training solutions to address performance gaps or opportunities for improved business results, considering cross-functional application.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer.
  • Manage project materials efficiently so that tasks are completed on time, problems are anticipated or resolved quickly, and team members are clear on project requirements and schedules. Publish timelines associated with milestone tasks to ensure planned completion of the project.
  • Apply instructional design theories, practice and methods.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc), including the Talent Development CLICK site.
  • Collaborate with and provide materials for classroom instructors.
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them; Develop measurement and accountability mechanisms that evaluate job readiness or performance, enabling continuous improvement
