A strong background in educational technology and in the development of digital instructional activities and storyboarding processes is desired.

Please note that this role is funded with the support of grants awarded to Carnegie Learning, and as such, may be tied to the grant’s term (currently funded for a term of one year) or dependent on continuance of funding, which is anticipated but not guaranteed.

  • Work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Coordinate work requests between the Math Product Management Team, Instructional Design Engineering, UI/UX Design, Technical, Product Management, and the Digital Content Team.
  • Collaborate to establish and refine processes and workflows and help to define the approach to developing new math products and features; train others (including vendor resources) to execute, providing oversight throughout the development process.
  • Participate in and lead special products as required.

Specific responsibilities may include the following:

  • Translate the instructional design strategies embedded within print-based activities into interactive learning experiences
  • Create and/or review storyboards against print source files to ensure quality instructional design and a consistent approach throughout the product
  • Specify art creation and/or audio recording needs
  • Plan and implement variations on activities to support the needs of all learners
  • Help to discover and document guidelines for consistent approaches to the treatment of instructional design patterns in digital format
  • Master use of a proprietary authoring tool and help to establish creative, repeatable processes for its best use in serving Carnegie Learning’s pedagogical approach
  • Discover and log the need for enhancements and changes to the authoring tool, and embedded interaction types (such as drag-and-drop, drawing tools, virtual protractors, interactive number lines, etc.), and help to create and prioritize a backlog of functional requirements
  • Suggest improvements to processes, workflows, and guidelines that contribute to the successful authoring of interactive learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with the Production department, Technical Product Management, vendor partners, and other cross-functional team members to ensure execution of these components is efficient and effective.
