The ATLAS Institute at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Curriculum Coordinator! This position will manage curriculum offerings and implement administrative strategies built to assist current and prospective undergraduate students, faculty, and academic advisors in the undergraduate (CTD) program. This position is responsible for academic scheduling for all courses offered through the ATLAS Institute including lectures, electives, cross-listed classes and graduate courses. This position will work closely with the academic Program Directors, advisors, and Curriculum Committee to plan and implement each semester’s course offerings and ensure streamlined registration periods.

Academic Scheduling Liaison

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Serve as the main unit liaison at campus, college, and Institute meetings concerning academic scheduling and registration.
  • Work with ATLAS faculty undergraduate and graduate Program Directors to plan each session/semester and project enrollment numbers.
  • Set-up courses in the course scheduling system for fall, spring and summer terms and complete the necessary forms for Academic Scheduling to make schedule adjustments throughout the year.
  • Process room assignments and reservations using appropriate spaces for classes and coordinating these placements with ATLAS operations and administrative processes.
  • Monitor and update course enrollments and recommend when to add or remove class sections.

Curriculum Administration

  • Initiate continuous reviews of current course offerings and propose improvements to streamline academic scheduling, enrollment management, and instructional support workflows in the Institute. This includes setting up, updating, and maintaining course listings in the university system for all semesters.
  • Manage the course revision and course proposal process working with the Academic Program Directors and Curriculum Committee for both undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of promotional materials for ATLAS courses including flyers and digital communications.

Enrollment And Student Services

  • Support the Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Advisors with enrollment issues or administrative requests, including updating degree audits, transfer exceptions, lifting flags in student records, overrides and authorizations.
  • Accurately monitor and enter student and course data and confirm whether students have completed prerequisites to facilitate and streamline the registration process.
  • Handle requests from students outside ATLAS to enroll in ATLAS classes by keeping track of Course Request form entries; work within existing protocols and communicate with relevant faculty and academic advisors to resolve student questions and ease the enrollment process.
  • Work with ATLAS staff to coordinate CTD Ambassadors and organize ATLAS building tours and prospective student visits.

Academic Program Support

  • Coordinate ongoing program needs and priorities with the CTD Academic Program Directors and advisors and serve as program representative.
  • Assist Academic Program Directors and Curriculum Committee by updating academic documents, such as maintaining a database of syllabi and curricular material.
  • Assist with communication to current and prospective students.
  • Assist with Institute events, including orientation, Welcome Back, Expo, etc.
  • Undertake general administrative program support duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Serve as ATLAS Faculty Course Questionnaire (FCQ) Coordinator ensuring that FCQs are administered correctly for all department courses and maintaining online files for all FCQ results.

Duties

Program Promotion Outreach, Recruitment, Course Support, and Other Duties:

  • Work with the academic program directors and ATLAS partners to strategize and implement internal and external course promotion.
  • Work with the academic program directors to find opportunities for expanding enrollment in our major, minor and/or other potential programs.
  • Coordinate student course support for undergraduate classes and track their performance throughout the semester. Create opportunities across campus for non-ATLAS students to enroll in ATLAS courses.
  • Build and document connections with other units across campus to effectively promote individual course offerings and the possible development of larger programs.
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Stay apprised and current on relevant University and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development activities and serve on unit, college or campus committees as applicable.

What You Should Know

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work modality, consistent with the College of Engineering and Applied Science Hybrid Work Policy, but due to the nature of the work being performed, it is expected that the work will be performed primarily on-campus.

What We Can Offer

The starting salary range is $50,000 – $55,000. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require

  • Bachelors degree and one year of professional experience directly related to the work assignment.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

  • Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural, political, and geographical differences, with ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Familiarity with University’s scheduling and student information and course scheduling systems (e.g. Campus Solutions, CIM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of academic scheduling basics, including a foundational understanding of requisites, degree requirements, course components, etc.
  • Interest in and/or knowledge of the interdisciplinary world of Creative Technology and Design.
