College of Medicine, Planning and Knowledge Management:

Planning and Knowledge Management is responsible for the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation; strategic planning; data collection, reporting, and analysis; program, course, and student performance assessments; creating a knowledge management system; and providing curriculum and classroom support.

 

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) seeks well-qualified candidates for a Coordinator, Planning and Knowledge Management position. The Coordinator, Planning and Knowledge Management is focused on managing assessment and evaluation activities primarily for the first-year students at the College of Medicine. The position requires direct collaboration with faculty to support the assessment and evaluation needs of the M.D. program.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of development, deployment, and reporting of valid assessment and evaluation instruments for the pre-clerkship medical program curriculum including in-house and National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) exams.
  • Manage collection, analysis, and reporting of evaluation results to appropriate stakeholders to influence program evaluation decision-making and monitor student progression through the curriculum.
  • Operationalize strategic direction for the pre-clerkship medical program and develop methods to improve processes and standard operating procedures within the Office of Assessment. Report evaluation results to satisfy accreditation requirements and program evaluation. Manage data analysis and fulfill ad-hoc data requests for educational leadership to facilitate decision-making. Plan and coordinate training of pre-clinical coordinators, exam proctors, and other Assessment Office staff on M1/M2 assessment program process and procedures in preparation for examinations.
  • Responsible for management and development of a comprehensive program evaluation system, both formative and summative, that evaluates students, faculty, courses, and program success aligned to the UCF College of Medicine missions and includes collaborating with faculty in advancing program evaluation and scholarly productivity of the undergraduate med ed program.
  • Serve as COM expert on assessment software at the administrator and student level to assist faculty, administrators, and students with technical questions. Educate the student body on the COM assessment software and manage formal student communications. Ensure optimal testing environment for in-house and National Board of Medical Education exams. Attend assessment-related conferences for professional development/networking opportunities to receive additional training and information on assessment software/products/processes used by students and faculty.
  • Lead contact with the Office of Knowledge Management to develop reports and ensure the accuracy of the pre-clinical curriculum assessment and evaluation data. Plan and coordinate with faculty to analyze student, faculty, course, and program evaluation data to translate educational innovations into publishable manuscripts.
  • Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to timely completion of required university and college training and updates.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in higher education, and medical school preferred.
  • Experience in student assessment and program evaluation.
