Job Summary

The Associate Manager, Curriculum Development will develop and implement comprehensive training curricula, programs, and strategies consistent with The Habit’s culture and mission. This role will work closely with various cross-functional partners to identify skills gaps and training needs to support restaurant Team Member training and development. This will require an in-depth understanding of restaurant operations at all levels as well as a creative and innovative approach to learning that can accommodate the fast-paced restaurant environment. This position will report to the Director of Learning & Recruiting, will be based at our home office located in Irvine, CA and requires some local travel. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to identify skills or knowledge gaps.
  • Design and develop detailed learning strategies, programs, and curricula that are aligned with organizational goals to deliver restaurant Team Member training.
  • Create engaging learning solutions including instructor-led training, eLearning, training guides, job aids, and other relevant training materials using a variety of programs
  • Assist in the creation of video script and video learning material. Consistently manage and execute project plans and timelines.
  • Collaborate with operations and other cross-functional teams to identify and solve for learning needs.
  • Develop evaluation criteria to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of training programs. 
  • Implement, update, and maintain courses within our proprietary LMS, FLAME Training.

Skills And Knowledge Requirements

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills including the ability to write concise, creative and effective instruction, especially for training. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously; executes initiatives on time. 
  • Ability to effectively partner and communicate with SMEs and cross-functional partners at all levels and in all functions within the organization; proven ability to understand and respond to a diverse population. 
  • Experience administering an LMS (Learning Management System). 
  • Highly creative, non-academic, pragmatic approach to learning. 
  • Ability to lead and influence others.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify training needs and develop effective learning solutions.
  • Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Bilingual in verbal/written Spanish a plus.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA or BS Degree in Communications, Instructional Design, English, Business or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Prefer hospitality/restaurant industry experience in Operations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with instructional design models, principles, and best practices. 
  • Experience administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Systems (CMS). 
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Articulate eLearning authoring tools.
  • Must successfully clear a background and reference check process.

Compensation

Salary Range: $93,200 to $109,600 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we’ll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
