Class Description

Responsible for the management of the CCBC LMS.  Supports the Academic Schools and faculty in the use of the LMS and related applications to promote student engagement and success.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, degree in education technology, instructional technology, instructional design, computer science, information systems or related field. (5) Five years of full-time experience in the management of a learning management system (LMS), Brightspace preferred.  Experience with project management required. Project management certifications preferred. Experience with data analysis required. Experience working in higher education, preferred.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate’s education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide leadership and/or support to assigned College division and/or function.
  • Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, and practices.
  • Serve as point of contact for internal and external organizations.
  • Prepare and analyze reports, as requested.
  • Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.
  • Serve as liaison between College departments, faculty and/or staff, as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  • Develop, implement and oversee projects related to any aspect of the college’s Learning Management System.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of LMS(s), including troubleshooting and maintenance. May require off-site activities as defined by supervisor.
  • Serve as escalated contact for support issues, including interactions with LMS(s) and related supported services. May require off-site activities as defined by supervisor.
  • Provide ongoing data reports on all aspects of the LMS.
  • Assist in managing LMS standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for expanding and integrating LMS options with additional components (LTI’s and 3rd party tools)
  • Coordinate with LMS support teams, CCBC Applications Development staff and Systems Engineering staff in the maintenance and upgrading processes for LMS(s).
  • Maintain knowledge and information of products, developments and trends in LMS(s) and related software.
  • Deliver training programs on the current LMS(s) and related applications.
  • Coordinate usage of LMS(s) across the college community.
  • Be “on-call” to respond to emergency situations outside of normal working hours as defined by supervisor.
  • Provide high quality customer service.
