Job Summary

As a Training Specialist within the UMH Revenue Cycle’s Learning and Performance Improvement (LPI) department, you will be tasked with the administration, organization, execution, and evaluation of training and educational programs specific to your designated application and subject matter. These programs are aimed at facilitating employee training and professional development. You will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive records of training activities, tracking employee progress, and assessing the effectiveness of training programs. Senior levels of this position will additionally be tasked with the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of in-house training initiatives as well as acting as the training lead on various projects.

Responsibilities*

  • Conduct both synchronous and asynchronous instructor-led virtual/online training sessions using prepared content.
  • Collaborate effectively with LPI and other training staff, technical teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to develop strategies addressing identified training needs.
  • Perform training needs analysis to identify employee skill and competency gaps, gather feedback, and define training objectives.
  • Analyze training requirements, design, and develop effective learning experiences through various delivery modes, including instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, online learning, and supporting materials.
  • Design, develop, build, and maintain technical training environments and scenarios.
  • Lead training projects, which include creating curriculum plans, charters, and project schedules, and overseeing the completion of project tasks.
  • Serve as a consultant to Revenue Cycle-related partners on the creation and implementation of learning solutions for projects not directly managed by the Learning and Performance Improvement team.
  • Evaluate training outcomes and continuously improve or update content based on evolving requirements, system updates, and employee feedback.
  • Train staff, trainers, instructional designers, and eLearning producers by providing coaching and mentoring to enhance their training and design skills.
  • Participate in the implementation and transition to new applications, technologies, workflows, and upgrades by providing one-on-one, small, and large group training and/or support.
  • Facilitate engaging standard and customized virtual classroom training sessions, lasting up to 8 hours, aimed at promoting efficient systems use and integrating technology into the work of end-users.
  • Manage training session attendance in Cornerstone, send pre and post class communications, and provide post training support as required.
  • Obtain and maintain any required technical certifications.
  • Maintain and continuously update an advanced working knowledge of assigned applications, services, and technologies, and team-based productivity tools.
  • Respond to customer service requests and incidents by providing thorough troubleshooting and ensuring quality assurance.

Required Qualifications*

Requirements For Senior Level

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-8 years of professional and training experience

Requirements For Intermediate Level

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-5 years of professional and training experience

Desired Qualifications*

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Training, Information Technology or Human Performance Improvement.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a learning related role.
  • Solid understanding and the ability to apply instructional design theories, methodologies, and best practices, including interactive online teaching methods.
  • Significant relevant experience in design and development of training (preferably adult learners focused on IT or software training)
  • A strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptable to technology and technology changes.
  • Experience in leading training projects.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
  • Experience with learning tools such as Articulate and Captivate and Learning Management Systems.
  • Experience with human/learner centered design methodologies.
  • Experience in a healthcare related field.
  • Prior Epic experience.

Work Locations

Work location for this position is remote online. This position may require some in person training which will require the ability to be on-site if needed for classroom session(s).

Background Screening
