Role Summary

Updates course curriculum and materials under the supervision of instructional staff or faculty in support of instructional advancement. This position develops and coordinates departmental training, develops and oversees grant iniatives related to programs, and serves as a professional resource to external agencies. The incumbent uses specialized knowledge and experience to perform job duties and make independent decisions. The incumbent may supervise subordinate staff and works under limited supervision.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Develops and coordinates sponsored professional training programs.
  • Conducts needs assessments for training.
  • Oversees development of training curriculum and recruits, assigns, and evaluates instructors.
  • Collaborates with various agencies to determine training needs.
  • Coordinates registration of training programs.
  • Screens and selects candidates to participate in specialized and/or certifying training programs.
  • Creates and submits required reports as needed.
  • Monitors program related expenses related to programs.
  • Assists with the development of policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates grant initiatives and researches possible funding sources.
  • Serves as liaison to funding agencies.
  • Oversees grant development, submission, and performance of requirements as mandated by the grant.
  • Ensures compliance with external funding agencies.
  • Regularly make presentations and speaks at sponsored professional training.
  • Serves as a professional resource to faculty, staff, and external agencies.
  • Serves as liaison between external agencies and/or boards to represent the University and department related to programs
  • Develops support plans to assist external agencies.
  • Stays abreast of professional developments related to the training programs through research and attending seminars and/or conferences.
  • May serve on various external and University committees.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Organizes and develops curricula, materials and programs to meet specific training needs.
2. Partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content.
3. Works to ensure course materials are current and relevant.
4. Plans and coordinates skill assessments and trainings.
5. Edits, reviews, and updates existing materials based on curriculum changes.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:  (3) Three Years Experience
